Job Summary

 

This position will be responsible for the installation, programming, calibration, preventative maintenance, troubleshooting and repair of automation equipment for the field SCADA system.

  Duties/Responsibilities

  • Install, maintain and troubleshoot instrumentation and electrical equipment for the SCADA automation equipment.
  • Ensure the reliability, integrity and usability of SCADA field and telecommunications equipment.
  • Ensure equipment and control logic conforms to company standards across all areas whenever possible.
  • Serve as liaison and technical resource for field operations personnel, I&E contractors and SCADA team members.
  • Troubleshoot data and connectivity issues at the wells and facilities and provide technical support to correct issues.
  • Coordinate and direct contractors 
  • Assist with startups and project work.
  • Must have good communication skills and maintain accurate records.
  • Travel to remote locations and work after hours may be required.
  • Other duties as assigned

Qualifications

  • High school diploma or General Education Degree (GED)
  • Oil and gas experience
  • Experience with field operations of SCADA systems
  • Must have experience programming SCADA systems
  • Must have proficient knowledge in the operation and mechanics of all types of electrical, instrumentation and communication equipment.
  • Additional experience programming ROC control systems and PLC programming is preferred.

Physical Requirements

  • Ability to stoop, stand, walk, pull, carry instruments, and climb stairs and ladders for extended period of time
  • Ability to lift and carry up to 50lbs.
  • Ability to work overhead for extended periods of time
  • Ability to perform fine manipulations with hands and fingers
  • Capable of driving distances of 150 miles or more per day during all types of weather conditions
  • Ability to one arm carry up to 25lbs. without assistance
  • Regular bending, crouching, pulling and kneeling to check equipment and gauges
  • Must be able to exert up to 50lbs. of force occasionally and up to 20lbs. frequently to move or manipulate objects
  • Ability to work significant amounts of time as required in completing job responsibilities
  • Working environment includes exposure to extremely loud noises in field, hazardous Chemicals, and Hydrocarbons that may be under extreme pressure for which appropriate safety measures are required
