Job Summary

Assists in evaluating proposals and makes recommendations to more seasoned buyers; has direct contact with customers and suppliers in the field.  In an entry-level capacity, prices, purchases, supplies and warehouses tubular goods and equipment used for drilling and production operations.



    • Under direct supervision, assist in sourcing, locating, and negotiating the purchase of tubular goods, services, and equipment
    • Assists to coordinate logistics of material shipments
    • Assists with forecasting tubular and equipment requirements
    • Helps monitor inventory levels
    • Develops relationships with suppliers and manufacturers
    • May assist in vendor negotiations
    • Keep abreast of new technology and products
    • Assists to monitor quality control of suppliers and manufacturers
    • Monitor and price material transfers
    • Works closely with accounting
    • Makes periodic trips to field locations, warehouses and manufacturing facilities.
    • Must be able to conduct physical inventory of all applicable equipment.

  • Strong communication skills, both written and oral
  • Proficient computer skills
  • Proven team player
  •  College degree OR Associate’s degree
  • Two (2) plus years in a purchasing assistant or other purchasing support capacity.
  • Or a combination of education and experience
