Job Title: Buyer I
Operations and Resource Development

Prices, purchases, supplies and warehouses tubular goods and equipment used for drilling and production operations.


Include the following. Other duties may be assigned.

  • Under direct supervision assist in sourcing, locating, and negotiating the purchase of tubular goods, services, and equipment
  • Coordinate logistics of material shipments
  • Work with drilling and production engineers to forecast tubular and equipment requirements
  • Manage inventory to sustain minimal levels
  • Assist in the divestment of surplus tubulars and equipment
  • Negotiate and maintain MRO with major suppliers
  • Maintain good relationships with suppliers and manufacturers
  • Keep abreast of new technology and products
  • Monitor quality control of suppliers and manufacturers
  • Monitor and price material transfers
  • Work closely with accounting
  • Makes periodic trips to field locations, warehouses and manufacturing facilities
  • Must be able to conduct physical inventory of all applicable equipment


  • Strong communication skills, both written and oral
  • Proficient computer skills
  • Proven team player
  • Bachelor’s degree
  • Two (2) plus years of purchasing experience or other purchasing support capacity.
  • Or a combination of education and experience
