Job Summary

The Land Intern will work under the direction and training of a Senior Landman to gain a more in-depth understanding of daily projects associated with Continental’s assets.   The internship requires knowledge of basic petroleum land management principles.       


  • Review lease files and title opinions for ownership determination and curative matters
  • Prepare well set-ups for submittal to lease records and division order groups
  • Prepare contractual briefs of exploration agreements, unit agreements, etc.
  • Operating Agreement review and preparation
  • Work with Lease Records, Division Orders and Land Systems for basic understanding of Quorum (land database) and SAP (Accounting)
  • Field title exam training in Courthouse
  • Negotiating an oil and gas lease
  • Indoctrination in Emerging Plays
  • Indoctrination in Acquisitions and Divestitures


  • Excellent analytical, verbal and written communications skills;
  • Proficient computer skills
  • Strong customer focus and a team player;
  • Possess good time management skills;


  • Current enrollment in four (4) year college or university;
  • Working towards a Bachelor’s degree in Energy Management or related degree with Petroleum Land emphasis;
  • Minimum 3.0 GPA for consideration (Transcripts required);
  • Professional appearance and demeanor; and
  • Eligible to work permanently in the United States upon graduation.

*This will be a rotational internship within CLR’s Land department and may also include projects in Land Administration.
