Mortgage Sales Manager   

The Consumers Credit Union team is looking to hire a passionate Mortgage Sales Manager to join our team. As a Mortgage Sales Manager, you will be responsible for managing all aspects of the credit union’s mortgage sales team. You will direct the activities of the mortgage sales and origination team, implementing product and service offerings, meeting the membership’s mortgage needs, and achieving production goals established by management.  

What you will do:  

  • Lead sales staff to achieve growth in revenue and in the portfolio, and manage the sales process effectively and efficiently.
  • Build networks to find qualified candidates and develop a talent pool.
  • Introduce new broader knowledge of industry best practices.
  •  Vision for growth with scale.
  • Maintain synergy and engage with stakeholders, including the sales team and other departments in the credit union. Other stakeholders include investors, members and realtors.
  • Able and willing to step in and support the team working shoulder to shoulder when needed.
  • Maintain high member satisfaction.
  • Investigate and negotiate onsite mortgage loan origination within real estate offices.
  • Develop and deepen relationships with new and existing realtors.
  • Attend mortgage meetings and social events.
  • Research marketing and sponsorship opportunities.
  • Conduct team evaluations.
  • Facilitate team education.

What you'll bring to the table:  

  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent work experience.
  • 5 years’ experience in mortgage sales and origination.
  • 8 years mortgage industry experience, including a thorough knowledge of Fannie, FreddieMac, FHA, VA, and USDA underwriting guidelines.
  • Local market knowledge a plus.
  • Professional appearance; builds rapports with members; enjoys working with people.
  • Strong communication skills to advocate for mortgages with senior management, peers, sales force, members, centers of influence and the mortgage team.
  • Knowledge of current technology. Able to easily navigate multiple software environments.
  • Proven leader with a solid track record of executing projects and strategic plan initiatives as well as managing and coaching team.
  • Flexibility in reacting to changes and challenges present in such an environment.
  • Develop and foster relationships with employees, realtors, title companies and credit union members
  • Experience building high performing teams.
  • Understanding of credit union history, philosophy, culture, values, and vision.
  • Understanding of credit union rules and regulations.
  • Understanding of Consumers operating policies and procedures.
