Build and Release Engineer

In our dynamic, fast-paced environment, the ideal Software Engineer candidate will be high energy, creative, resourceful and truly innovative at engineering unique and well thought out software solutions. This is a hands-on opportunity to develop a new telecom platform which will help define the future of wireless networking.

Core Responsibilities

  • Manage the build process for multiple concurrent releases
  • Automate build and deployment process through build system
  • Maintain various software feature branches using a Source Control System
  • Design and configure continuous integration build system through collaboration with development and IT teams
  • Participate in deployment & configuration of the application as needed
  • Assist the Software Operations Team with deployment responsibilities
  • Other duties as assigned

 Skills and Qualifications

  • 5-7 years of build/release and configuration management
  • Hands on experience with custom Linux distro
  • Embedded Linux Integration experience
  • Proficient with build tools such as Make, Ant and Maven
  • Prior experience having written build configurations from scratch (Makefile, build.xml, etc)
  • Prior experience with Shell scripting e.g. Python/ Ruby/ Bash/ Perl/ Puppet/ Chef
  • Proficient with build automation, orchestration, source code and build management systems (GIT, bit bucket)
  • Continuous Integration (CI) tools
  • Work directly with agile Application Development to provide daily support aligned with a model of planned releases
  • Working knowledge of relational database management system
  • Bachelor of Science Degree from an accredited college or university or relevant professional experience


  • Debug build failures: compiler/linker
  • Linux IOT experience
  • Open Embedded, Yocto, Bitbake, Buildroot or MontaVista Linux experience
