Description

Collinear Networks is developing pioneering wireless data transmission solutions enabling the “always connected” era. We are seeking a Buyer who has great people skills and can act both as an individual contributor as well as part of a cross functional team. The ideal candidate has knowledge of and exposure to fundamental theories, principles and concepts. Performs structured work assignments and uses existing procedures to solve routine or standard problems. 

Responsibilities

  • Quotes materials; procures materials, components, equipment and services at the lowest cost consistent with consideration of quality, reliability of source and urgency of need.  Expedites and ensures the timely receipt of materials
  • Identifies, develops, and manages effective relationships with existing and potential suppliers of goods and services to meet the established cost, quality and delivery targets
  • Coordinates purchasing activities with manufacturing and engineering departments to maintain inventory at planned levels.  Interfaces with Accounting and Receiving to resolve problems, including RMAs
  • Works with engineering to recommend new suppliers. Issues RFQs, analyzes proposals, negotiates prices and delivery, issues and/or adjusts purchase orders in a timely manner.  Follows-up on orders, verifies delivery, approves payment, and maintains necessary records.  Negotiates vendor contracts, as appropriate.  Follows purchasing business processes
  • Reviews MRP on a regular basis; executes and cancels pull ins, push outs and planner orders as prioritized
  • Returns unacceptable items for credit or new items
  • Coordinates with other departments to verify purchase requirements

Required Skills and Experience

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Business, Supply Chain or related field
  • Min 7 Years of experience in managing relationship with existing suppliers
  • 3 - 4 Years of experience in significant areas of Procurement responsibilities
  • Experience in similar/Global companies-advantage
  • Strong interpersonal skills
  • Ability to prioritize, adapt to the situation and multi-task
  • Organized and detail oriented
  • Proactive: bias for action - sense of urgency
  • Experience working with Engineering and Contract Manufacturers on New Product Introduction (NPI)
  • Experience with Material Planning & ERP Systems
