About the Job:
The OTTO Motors Strategic Alliance Ecosystem is a growing and evolving collection of products and companies that offer high value technological solutions that are complementary to and compatible with OTTO products.  A healthy ecosystem makes it easier for systems integrators and end-user clients to find and be confident in sourcing the building blocks they need for their OTTO-centric autonomous material handling system.

 As a Software Solutions Developer within the Ecosystem team, you will grow the OTTO Motors ecosystem of payload transfer and software integration solutions that complement OTTO’s core products.  By integrating complementary software solutions, you will enable our customers to achieve greater efficiency, flexibility and intelligence in their material handling processes.

 Primary responsibilities:

  • Collaborate and develop software integration solutions between OTTO products and established/emerging software companies specializing in dispatch solutions, traffic and fleet management, intralogistics, multi-agent orchestration and interoperability.
  • Serve as technical software expert and liaison to interface OTTO products, hardware (AMRs) and software (OTTO Fleet Manager and Robot APIs, OPC/UA Middlewares) with external software partners.
  • Provide technical guidance and support to both internal teams and external software partners during development, implementation and testing phases of software integration projects.
  • Collaborate with product management teams to identify enablement features for new software integrations.
  • Perform system testing, and validation of integrated solutions to ensure functionality, performance, safety and reliability on both software and hardware platforms.
  • Stay up to date on industry trends and market needs to cultivate new and existing partner relationships to expand the OTTO third party software ecosystem. 
Extended responsibilities:
  • Cross-functionally support other pillars within the Strategic Alliances Ecosystem, including essential attachments and endpoint stations.
  • Conduct pilot programs and proof of concept projects with key customers to demonstrate the value and effectiveness of integrated software solutions.
  • Continuously monitor and optimize the performance of integrated software solutions, and address any bottlenecks or issues that may arise.
  • Develop start up plans, training materials and documentation to facilitate the onboarding, enablement and support of 3rd party software providers.
  • Develop acceptance test plans for validation of system functionality and performance.
  • Provide input and feedback to software partners on product roadmap prioritization and feature development based on customer needs and market demands.

 Primary requirements:

  • 5+ years of relevant work experience
  • 5+ years of experience integrating industrial automated equipment and software
  • College/university diploma or degree in a software development or engineering type of field
  • Familiarity with ROS or ROS2
  • Familiarity with REST APIs
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Customer/partner/supplier interaction experience with an emphasis on relationship building through creative collaboration and/or technical enablement.
  • Demonstrated abilities in a systems integration capacity, comfortable with solutions/problems involving electrical, mechanical, and software systems.
  • Ability to self-direct and work independently while being on a global team.
  • Local candidates accepted with willingness to travel occasionally

 Bonus requirements:

  • Hands-on experience with OTTO Motors AMR technology
  • Past experience with AMR/AGV systems integration
  • Working knowledge of industry 4.0 and its relevance to autonomous mobile robotics technologies, specifically modern approaches of sensor integration, workflow control, fleet management, and interoperability.
  • Familiarity OPC/UA, and middlewares such as Ignition, Kepware, FT Optix etc
  • Familiarity with VDA5050
  • Experience operating in collaboration with or within a large multi-functional organization (Sales, Product Development, Services, etc).
