Director of Silicon Technology JD-4763

Manufacturing and Quality Engineering Austin, Texas

From concept to high volume production, you will be responsible for Cirrus Logic's foundational technology development for deep sub-micron mixed-signal CMOS products. This is a very high visibility management position for a proven leader with the ability to interact with suppliers, customers, and internal teams.  You will have a wide range of duties including development of technology roadmaps to support products, reviewing foundry technology offerings, delivering custom technology to enable high-performance mixed-signal solutions, problem-solving yield issues, leading and mentoring a global team, and regular interaction with internal and external customers.


  • Direct a team of talented and experienced technology development managers
  • Collaborate with product design, marketing, and product engineering to define silicon technology needs
  • Review external foundry technology offerings against product needs and drive alignment of technology roadmaps
  • Direct development of base technology and additional mixed-signal devices from initial review through technology qualification and certification
  • Direct the transfer of technologies from development into sustaining

Required Knowledge Skills and Qualifications

  • Bachelor or advanced degree in Electrical Engineering, Physics, Materials Engineering, or equivalent
  • 10+ years’ experience managing high-performance technology teams
  • 15+ years’ experience in technology development, process integration, or technology transfer with knowledge of CMOS devices
  • Excellent written and verbal communications skills and polished presentation skills
  • Ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines and work effectively as part of a team
  • Analytical skills to assess and identify appropriate courses of action for resolution of problems that are unique, diverse and time-sensitive
  • Solid knowledge in device physics and reliability (e.g. HCI, TDDB, SOA)
  • Understand fundamental analog & mixed-signal design and device requirements (e.g. mismatch, Rdson, etc.) and their process implications
  • Strong data analysis and technical problem-solving skills
  • Knowledge of manufacturing processes, procedures, facilities and equipment
  • Available for up to 20% travel overseas

Preferred Skills and Qualifications

  • Experience in high voltage and BCD technology development and integration
  • Experience in interfacing with external foundries and customers
