Job Description:

Chloe + Isabel is looking for a Senior Buyer who is opportunistic and data driven to grow a successful and expanding jewelry and lifestyle business to the next level.  This individual will partner with the product development, finance, marketing and training teams to develop and execute strategies to build strong assortments that will achieve/surpass financial objectives of each season.  Strong analytical skills, creative problem solving skills and ability to thrive in an entrepreneurial environment are a must.

Main Responsibilities:

  • Partner with planning and finance teams in the development of financial goals that are met or exceeded.
  • Generate business analysis and prepare selling hindsights on weekly, monthly, quarterly, and seasonal basis in order to help identify key trends and maximize opportunities in the assortment.
  • Aggressively drive the business by identifying opportunities and developing action plans through reorders; Collaborate with demand planning to ensure inventory flows when and where as needed. Communicate needs of the business to management on regular basis.
  • Collaborate with planning in the development and implementation of seasonal plans and open-to-buy; create and manage department and class sales plans. Conduct monthly projection review with planning team to manage open –to-buy; partner with planning to reforecast.
  • In buying and cross-functional meetings, prepare and present clear, well-reasoned viewpoints based on data, information and experience.
  • Communicate merchandising strategies to all business partners to ensure that goals are met/ surpassed on regular basis.
  • Work collaboratively with design and product development to create and buy products that achieve the target mix of fashion and core styles across classifications; and meet the varying needs and preferences of the Chloe + Isabel customer.
  • Partner with Brand Creative and Marketing teams to drive home creative vision and themes for season; develop merchandising presentations.
  • Partner with planning on life cycle analysis and strategies; confirm core continuing styles, identify markdowns; re-forecast related category plans as needed.
  • Collaborate with management in the development and execution of merchandising and promotional strategies for all classifications.

Other Duties and Responsibilities

  • Regularly update senior executive team on current status of business and future risks/opportunities.
  • Lead Merchandising team to do competitor research in stores, on the web and on social media.

Qualifications

  • Education:  BA or BS degree.  
  • Must have 5+ years experience in Buying. 

Skills:

  • Strong problem solving and analytical skills
  • Highly proficient with Microsoft Excel and financial modeling.
  • High attention to detail and ability to work in fast paced changing environment.
