Director of Development and Operations (Full-Time)
Description
As the Director of Development and Operations, you’ll play a pivotal role in advancing ChildServe’s mission by building and managing a portfolio of major and planned gift prospects. You’ll also oversee essential development operations, such as annual giving campaigns, impactful events, foundation reporting, gift processing, and donor data analytics.
What You'll Do
- In partnership with the CEO, SVP of External Relations and Development, and senior development officers, collaborate in providing strategic direction for the Foundation including major and planned gifts, annual giving, events, capital campaigns, and corporate giving.
- Actively manage a portfolio of 75-100 donors and prospects that includes individuals, corporations, and major and planned gifts to advance ChildServe’s mission.
- Engage board members in philanthropic development, provide board reports and communications as necessary, and represent ChildServe in industry associations and community groups.
- Provide oversight of key development operations including use of the Blackbaud/Raiser’s Edge database, foundation reporting, donor data analytics, gift processing, and donor stewardship.
- In partnership with the SVP of External Relations and Development, ensure fiscal responsibility for all appropriations, administration of restricted and endowed funds, and audit and compliance issues.
- In partnership with the SVP of Finance, ensure financial accountability and reporting of donations to the Foundation.
- Lead Foundation team meetings to ensure focus, alignment, and execution of the team's annual plans and departmental goals.
- Supervise the team through effective hiring, training, coaching, and performance management. Ensure staff development to achieve high results. Promote engagement and satisfaction to drive retention.
What You'll Need
- Bachelor’s degree in a related field such as public administration, business administration, or healthcare administration.
- Seven years of professional fundraising experience with demonstrated operations and staff leadership experience.
- Experience leading development initiatives, achieving noteworthy results.
- Proven track record in a competitive philanthropic community, including building relationships, cultivating, soliciting, and stewarding major gifts.
- Strong planning, decision-making, project management, and meeting management capabilities.
- Demonstrated ability to develop people to do great work and grow in their career.
- Ability to understand and communicate effectively and professionally in reading, writing, and speaking the English language.
