Day Habilitation Specialist (Full Time)
Description
The Day Habilitation Specialist supports the skill development and retention for young adults. This team member will provide or assist with care needs and supervision in a group setting. The hours are 9am - 3pm, M-F, 30 hours per week, with opportunity for more hours if desired. $15.06/hour.
Schedule
- M-F, 9:00am – 3:00pm
- Opportunities for additional evening and weekend hours available if desired
What You’ll Do
- Provide direct care and assist assigned individuals with accessing the community and increasing independence with communication, socialization and daily living skills
- Implement individual’s care plans and provide ongoing feedback regarding additional or changing care plan needs to child’s supervisor or Day Habilitation Supervisor
- Required to become certified for medication administration, seizures, and g-tube feedings as well as other specialized trainings as identified
- Assure timely and accurate documentation
What You’ll Need
- Must be at least 18 years old.
- Experience working with or knowledge of children with special health care needs preferred.
- Must be willing to provide transportation as a ChildServe authorized driver if required. This includes passing a motor vehicle record check and car safety check and able to provide a valid driver’s license and insurance.
- Good oral and written communication skills and have the ability to accurately document all observations, significant events, and services provided.
- Ability to communicate effectively in reading, writing, and speaking the English language
- This position may be subject to vaccination safety requirements. If applicable, specific requirements will be discussed during the interview process.
