We are seeing a seeking a passionate and experienced Nursing Supervisor to work with our Community Services team in Ames, IA. In this role, you will play a key part in advancing the health and well-being of children through skilled care coordination and staff supervision. Schedule
  • Monday-Friday business hours, occasional evening/weekends per program requirements

What You'll Do
  • Collaborate with child’s family, physician, and other care team members in developing, implementing, and revising plan of care.
  • Participate on the care team, including the admission process as needed to assure service ability to meet the medical needs.
  • Participate in quality monitoring, reporting and care initiatives designed to improve care quality practices.
  • Ensure care documentation aligns with ChildServe policy, regulatory, licensing, and accreditation standards.  
  • Delegate and monitor health care delivery within parameters identified by Board of Nursing and compliance with ChildServe policy, regulatory, licensing, and accreditation standards.
  • Respond appropriately to health, safety, and emergency situations. Must be able to make independent decisions regarding health/nursing situations.
  • Provide on-call nursing support to designated location as scheduled.
  • Participate in teaching and training of other healthcare staff members and non-licensed caregivers. 
  • Supervise the team through effective hiring, training, coaching, and performance management. 
  • Assure that nursing assignments and work schedules meet the health care needs of the children.
  • Maintain current knowledge of ChildServe and community resources that are available to children and families.

What You'll Need
  • Licensed to practice as a RN in the state of Iowa, BSN preferred
  • 2 years of RN experience in the field of developmental disabilities, pediatrics, and skilled patients.
  • Experience as a charge nurse, team lead, or supervisor preferred  
  • Documentation of current CPR/BLS certification issued from the American Heart Association or American Red Cross
  • Ability to lift up to 35 lbs, be mobile within the assigned work area, and frequently bend, lift, reach, and stand.
  • This position may be subject to COVID-19 safety requirements. If applicable, specific requirements will be discussed during the interview process.
  • Ability to communicate effectively in reading, writing, and speaking the English language
