We are looking for an Agency Incident Investigator to join our agency.
 

The person in this role is the Center’s primary lead in conducting confidential, fair, consistent and thorough investigations that often involve sensitive matters. They develop plans for preventing and managing incidents, recommend agency responses and interface with regulators and law enforcement.  

Responsibilities 

  • Understands compliance with regulations applicable to program services, including, but not limited to, those issued by OPWDD, DOH, SED, and DOL, and maintains a thorough understanding of Justice Center and OPWDD Part 624, 625 and 633 regulations
  • Maintains a consistent, high quality, professional and individual focused orientation when conducting business
  • Drafts Final Investigative Reports for incidents investigated
  • Maintains an impartial and professional attitude while conducting investigations, interacting with staff and management
  • Presents cases to divisions, Human Resources, supervisors and Incident Review Committee as required.
  • Reports incidents to  outside regulators (e.g., Justice Center, OPWDD, and MHLS)

 Requirements: 

  • Associates degree in the field of Management, Business, Health Administration or related field is required. Bachelor’s Degree is preferred.
  • 5 years of job related experience, specifically in an investigator position or programs for individuals with disabilities, quality improvement programs, health, education or residential programs with responsibilities for quality improvement or quality assurance is required
  • Specialized training, license, certification, skills: OPWDD or NYS Justice Center Investigation Certification Training is preferred
  • Strong writing and communication skills

The compensation range for this position is $24.12 to $28.50. Rate of pay is commensurate on experience.
