Certain Affinity brings an exceptionally talented group together to form the largest independent developer in Austin, Texas and opened a second studio in Toronto, Canada, in 2019. Our Toronto studio will collaborate with our Austin location, and together we’ll be co-developing AAA FPS games and creating our own compelling new IP.

We are looking for a driven Senior Recruiter to join our recruitment team to help build out our expanding game studio in Toronto. You will work closely with the recruiting team, leadership and department leads to recruit and hire top talent across all disciplines. You will be networking at conferences and meetups, pipelining future candidates, and building relationships with local schools.

  • Manage the full cycle of recruiting candidates from sourcing through on-site interviewing, negotiating offers, and closing candidates
  • Design and execute customized, candidate recruiting plans, partnering closely with the hiring managers to identify the right talent
  • Own the candidate experience ensuring a positive experience across all stages of the recruiting process
  • Gauge the potential chemistry of candidates for fit and motivation rather than selling a position
  • Find and engage unique and/or passive candidates through creative and innovative sourcing techniques
  • Establish effective communication flow with critical stakeholders regarding recruiting efforts by providing status updates through meetings, email, and reports
  • Execute on tactical outreach, referral generation, events, and pipelining efforts
  • Network and maintain relationships with vital talent communities for short and/or long-term opportunities
  • Be able to provide market research as a subject matter expert in guiding the recruitment process- adding value to key stakeholders
  • Collaborate with the recruiting team on university relations efforts to build talent pipelines and referrals


  • 4+ years of full-cycle recruiting and sourcing experience
  • Experience working within the games or tech industry
  • Experience recruiting for a variety of positions in different disciplines
  • Strong focus on customer service and cultivating relationships
  • Clear and compelling written and verbal communications skills
  • Ability to prioritize tasks and projects in an agile environment
  • Exceptional interpersonal, communication and collaboration skills
  • Team player who is a resourceful self-starter with the ability to prioritize effectively
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality with sensitive information
  • Comfortable speaking in front of large groups of people for recruitment events
  • You have familiarity with relevant tools and programs (e.g., applicant tracking systems, LinkedIn, referral programs, and job boards)
  • Ability to travel
  • A desire to work in a diverse and inclusive environment
