Float Medical Assistant/Medical Clerk

Clinic Oakland, California

Description

Looking for a satisfying career? Help frail, low-income seniors to live well by joining Center for Elders’ Independence (CEI) as a Medical Clerk/Medical Assistant. CEI provides a comprehensive healthcare program called Program of All-inclusive Care for the Elderly (or PACE) so that seniors with complex healthcare needs can stay healthy and strong and continue to live independently at home in their communities.

Here’s what our employees say about working at CEI:

“I love the work and the people. It’s a joy and an honor to work with the elderly and offer them quality care.”

“I like my job. I like to work with elderly people when they can live independently and make their own decisions. It’s very different from a nursing home.”

“CEI is my family, even more than my real family. I like the training. It’s good how they make sure you know what you need to know and have what you need to do your job.”

If you are committed to providing high quality care to the elderly, CEI is the place for you! As a Medical Clerk/Medical Assistant you will provide support to the other clinic staff and participants in the clinic including taking vital signs, maintaining the cleanliness of the clinic area and helping participants while they are in the clinic. In addition, you will provide clerical support to the clinic to ensure that the phones are answered, and that data is entered into the computer accurately. You will communicate with both internal departments and external providers, such as following up on pharmacy and other provider orders. You will also schedule internal appointments.  To qualify, you will have completed a Medical Assistant course and have a minimum of two year’s relevant experience, preferably in a clinical setting. Preferably, you have a Medical Assistant certification.
