Salary Range: $90,000-$110,000

ABOUT THE ROLE
The Estimator will be responsible for developing civil estimates and preparing bidding documents for civil scopes of work. As an Estimator, your primary scope of work will include civil engineering and studies, trench and backfill, grading and drainage, SWPPP, concrete and driven pier foundations, geotechnical reports and analysis, underground risk, hydrology studies, environmental reports and compliance, phase 1 & 2 environmental evaluation / reports, minor hazardous material remediation, demolition of minor existing site facilities. The ideal candidate will manage scopes of work from initial bid, preliminary design, proposal documents, permitting and coordination with AHJs, issuing subcontracts, and provide input on civil site management. Other responsibilities will include reading and interpreting topography and grading plans, drainage, and erosion control plans, and evaluating civil subcontractor quotes.
This role will partner with internal customer groups: Project Construction team, Estimating, Engineering, Purchasing, and Electrical Project Management to bid and execute on all projects, and will report to the Director.
ABOUT YOU
 You bring at least three years of experience in heavy civil design-build construction and estimating, preferably in large utility scale renewable energy projects. Your skillset includes the ability to interpret geotechnical reports, hydrology studies, surveys, topography maps, drawing plan sets, etc. and utilize software tools to provide quantities of civil earthwork such as cut/fill grading, road sections, trench profiles, drainage features, and more.  You have excellent verbal and written communication skills, and you have an eye for detail ensuring accuracy in the work that you do. You are able to work autonomously and collaborate with a team.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
Any combination of education and experience that would likely provide the required knowledge, skills and abilities as well as possession of any required licenses or certifications is qualifying.
Education: High School Diploma or GED required. BS in Construction Management or Civil Engineering preferred.
Licensure/Certifications: None required.
Experience: Three (3) years of estimating and/or project management experience in Civil Construction industry. Experience with civil design options or managing Civil Engineers preferred. Solar PV experience or willingness to learn. Experience with design/build, pricing and equipment management, derivation of labor rates, management of take-off from plans and pre-defined specs.
