The Audio Visual Support Technician position is a full-time, non-exempt position reporting to the Director of Special Events. The Audio Visual Support Technician runs the audio, video, and lighting (AVL) for campus events, maintains all AVL equipment for the University, and post-produce content for recorded events as needed. This role is 100% onsite.

We’re looking for candidates who have:
- Minimum of one year of AVL experience, preferably with live events and broadcasts.
- College degree in an AV discipline or equivalent experience preferred. Professional certifications highly desirable.
- Strong customer service, leadership, and organizational skills.
- A positive and willing attitude to learn new technology and leverage for process improvement.
- Adaptability to work in a high pressure, fast paced, and changing environment.
- Ability to manage live events by leading the AV team, collaborate with various departments, and meet deadlines.
- Proficient in ProPresenter, YouTube, Live Stream, OBS, Vimeo, and basic IT systems.
- Experience with Extron equipment is preferred.
- Capable to respond in a timely manner to questions and inquiries via e-mail, Zoom chat, telephone or the work order system; proficient in Microsoft Office.
- Ability to find solutions to AVL problems in unfamiliar situations with little or no assistance.
- A willingness to engage in a team setting and collaboratively work together.
- Flexibility to work early mornings, late evenings, and weekends as events are planned.
Key Job Duties
Mission Contribution
Contribute to CCU’s mission: Christ-centered higher education transforming students to impact the world with grace and truth. In this role, the Audio Visual Support Technician contributes to the mission by being member of a Christ-centered Event Services team that is committed to serving CCU students, employees, and constituents with grace and truth.
Event Support
- Set up and run AVL programs and equipment for small and large-scale events across campus.
- Manage and schedule AV Tech Support Work Study student employees.
- Serve as a consultant for the Chapel AV team; assist with chapels twice per week during academic year.
- Stream events to YouTube or Live Stream as requested; proficient in operating videography cameras.
- Advise best practices and basic training for AVL equipment to student leaders and staff.
Operations
- Leverage event management software, 25Live, to capture AV requests for future events; update event approvals and maintain AVL inventory list.
- Work with Event Services team to communicate event needs and scheduling.
- Collaborate with multiple departments to understand AVL needs for events; provide recommendations for event success.
- Conduct site tours for campus events and rental clients; provide detailed assistance for events including layouts.
- Attend regular team meetings with Special Events department; schedule regular meetings and trainings with staff employees.
Equipment Management
- Manage the AV equipment in the Armstrong Center, Anschutz Student Center & Event Center (fix issues, contact third-party professionals, update technology, make configurations for specified events, etc.).
- Track condition of and maintain the University’s AVL technology inventory; maintain optimal condition of storage areas.
- Learn and implement new technologies, as industry standards advance.
Work Environment:
While performing the duties of this job, you may be required to walk, stand, sit, reach with hands and arms, balance, stoop, speak with clarity, and have appropriate vision and hearing capabilities. The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds. Colorado Christian University expects all faculty and staff to become a part of the University community by participating in activities and events that occur on the campus throughout the year, which may occur during evenings and weekends.

Colorado Christian University’s pay philosophy is based on internal and external data for pay equity; along with budgetary considerations for effective stewardship. Pay will be assigned based on relevant experience at a range of $18.00- $21.50 per hour. We reserve the right to pay an equitable rate that we believe is within our salary structure or that may fit a candidate’s qualifications or experience for the job. Spiritual Requirements
- Committed follower of Jesus Christ, who believes there is no salvation apart from faith in his atonement on the cross, by grace alone becoming "born again" thus beginning a personal relationship with Christ, the Son of God.
- Able to effectively communicate personal faith and apply biblical principles and convictions in the workplace. Must have a strong sense of calling to the ministry of Colorado Christian University.
- Regularly attend and be engaged in meaningful involvement in a Bible-believing evangelical local church. Knowledgeable about the Word of God and passionate about Christian education.
- Must be a traditional evangelical Christian whose lifestyle is in consonance with sound Christian principles, is compatible with CCU’s Statement of Faith, and is in agreement with the Strategic Priorities promulgated by the University.
