The Lumistella Company is looking for an experienced People Operations Specialist to join our team! This position is a key player in shaping and executing the company’s talent acquisition and employee retention strategies. This role involves executing activities in support of the full employee lifecycle, including recruiting, onboarding, employee engagement, performance management, and offboarding. Additionally, this role is responsible for conducting compensation analysis, creating offer letters, and negotiating with candidates to ensure competitive and fair compensation packages.

The People Operations Specialist will work closely with hiring managers to understand job requirements, develop detailed job descriptions, and implement effective recruitment strategies to attract high-quality candidates. They will employ various sourcing methods, including job boards, social media, and professional networks, and manage relationships with external agencies when necessary.

This role will act as the primary contact for candidates, guiding them through the interview process, and ensuring a smooth transition into the company. They will also track and report on key recruitment metrics, provide insights on talent acquisition trends, and continuously seek opportunities for process improvements.

In addition to recruiting, they will support, design, and execute retention programs aimed at improving employee engagement and reducing turnover. This includes analyzing turnover data, conducting exit interviews, and implementing strategies to foster a positive work environment. The role requires a deep understanding of recruitment best practices and retention strategies, as well as a commitment to compliance with legal and company standards.

The People Operations Specialist is responsible for the following:

Talent Acquisition and Onboarding

  • Lead the end-to-end recruitment process including job analysis, candidate sourcing, screening, interviewing, and hiring
  • Collaborate with hiring managers to define position requirements and develop job descriptions
  • Ensure a positive candidate experience by managing communications and facilitating smooth transitions through hiring stages
  • Conduct pre-employment assessments and screenings
  • Build and maintain a talent pipeline
  • Track and report on recruitment metrics
  • Provide training and guidance to hiring managers on best practices for interviewing and selection

Compensation and Offer Management

  • Conduct comprehensive compensation analysis for new positions and existing roles
  • Create detailed offer letters for successful candidates
  • Lead salary negotiations with candidates

Employee Engagement and Retention

  • Support in the development and implementation of employee retention strategies and programs
  • Analyze turnover rates, exit interviews, and engagement surveys
  • Identify areas for improvement to enhance employee engagement and reduce turnover

Onboarding and Offboarding

  • Build, schedule, and prepare orientation programs for new hires
  • Manage the 90-day onboarding process
  • Support offboarding processes by conducting exit interviews and handling final paperwork

Compliance and Reporting

  • Ensure all recruitment and retention practices comply with legal and company policies
  • Maintain and update organizational charts
  • Protect company assets through proper management of asset files and adherence to information security policies

The ideal People Operations Specialist will bring:

  • 3-5 years of experience in talent acquisition and employee retention, with a strong understanding of recruitment best practices and retention strategies.
  • Proficiency in Applicant Tracking Systems (ATS) and Microsoft Office Suite (Outlook, Excel, Word). Familiarity with HR software and tools is a plus.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to engage effectively with candidates and internal stakeholders.
  • Strong organizational and time management skills to handle multiple priorities, effective planning, and working under pressure to meet deadlines.
  • Strong analytical skills with the ability to assess data and make informed decisions. Experience with metrics and reporting related to recruitment and retention.
  • Knowledge of compensation structures, salary benchmarking tools, and market trends to conduct effective compensation analysis.
  • Strong negotiation skills and the ability to effectively communicate compensation packages to candidates.
  • Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
  • Demonstrated problem-solving skills with a proactive approach to identifying and addressing issues.
  • Confident and decisive in stressful situations and tight time frames.
  • Utilizes good judgment and demonstrates maturity, tact and diplomacy.
  • Maintains confidence and utilizes the utmost in discretion.
  • Takes initiative and demonstrates flexibility and adaptability.

 

Education requirements: 

 

  • Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related field.
  • Relevant certifications (e.g., SHRM-CP, PHR) are preferred.
