The Details:

Location: Downtown Seattle (remote is not available for this role)

 

Work Schedule: Our typical business hours are 9:00-6:30 Monday-Friday (Occasionally hours may include evening and weekends)

 

Travel Requirements: Up to 25%, in State as assigned

 

This Role is approved as Term Limited for 1 year

What You’ll Be Doing:

Reporting to the Manager of Workforce and Student Mentorship, , the Peer Mentor will work closely with team of other Peer Mentors who collaborate to recruit and provide guidance to assist Home Care Aides and help them to navigate the requirements necessary to become certified and become successful in the home care profession.

 

As a Peer Mentor, you will work out of our downtown Seattle office.  A large majority of your day will involve making phone calls.  To be a successful Peer Mentor, you must have advanced computer skills to navigate through different computer database systems to perform daily job functions.

  • Use reports and databases to support mentees on a day-to day basis;
  • Proactively make outreach phone calls to offer support and guidance to other Caregivers on various needs;
  • Recruit, coach and support other caregivers over the phone;
  • Host various in-person and web conferences to facilitate group discussion and skills demonstration;
  • Respond to inbound calls, cases and emails to support and guide caregiver to achieve their goals;
  • Perform needs assessments with mentees and co-develop action plans to ensure the services provided are on track;
  • Schedule mentor sessions, follow up sessions, track and document the provision of services in a timely manner;
  • Use multiple computer systems to track and review documentation in our database and perform daily tasks;
  • Create and send resources via email;
  • Properly document and track data in various electronic databases;
  • Serve as an energetic and enthusiastic mentor for the Home Care Aides;
  • Foster a smooth transition, acclimation and a sense of belonging before, during, and after training for students;
  • Continue to learn and share information, resources and certification processes;
  • Ability to adjust work priorities per program needs;
  • Discuss mentees’ concerns and trends with the Leads and Managers;
  • Attend all team meetings, trainings and events;
  • Availability to work evenings and weekends as needed;
  • Ability to travel to classrooms to promo program, gather student feedback or host focus groups;
  • Perform other duties commensurate with the experience level of this position;
  • Additional duties as assigned by your manager.

 

You Will Need to Have:

  • At least 1 year of experience as a certified Home Care Aide;
  • Successful completion the SEIU 775 Benefits Group Basic training version 2 or 3 and earned Home Care Aide certification;
  • Must successful completion of Advanced Training in the last 24 months or complete this requirement within 3 months of hired;
  • Mentor must pass knowledge, skills, and mentor quality assurance evaluation;
  • High comfort level to proactively make phone calls to coach and guide other caregivers on a daily basis;
  • High comfort level with electronic communication including email, chat, web conference, using cloud call center services, databases, Microsoft Excel, Word, PowerPoint and Outlook;
  • Growth mindset, willing to continue to learn new skills and processes;
  • Ability to learn and support new initiatives and assignments;
  • Maintain a positive attitude and a strong team mentality;
  • Open to feedback and responsive work style;
  • Demonstrated high work ethic and accountability;

  • Ability to demonstrate both HCA and Advanced HCA skills needed as a Peer Mentor;
  • Valid driver’s license, state minimum insurance and access to reliable transportation.
