Bookkeeper/Accountant

Description

We are seeking a motivated Accountant/Bookkeeper to help us grow our Business Processing Outsourcing (BPO) Department in our Manhattan, NY office. This highly demanding position requires a positive individual with good organizational skills, ability to work within deadlines and execute multiple tasks simultaneously to ensure a high level of professional standards. The full-time or part-time position is available immediately to qualified applicants.


Essential duties include (but are not limited to)

  • Providing consultation to the client and its foreign parent company on their accounting, payroll and business administration needs in the United States
  • Booking of all business transactions (Cash, A/R, A/P, general journal entries, etc.)
  • Preparing financial statements (monthly, quarterly, annual) and reporting packages
  • Preparing sales and use tax returns
  • Payroll processing through online systems of payroll companies (e.g. ADP, Paychex, etc.)
  • Assure timely completion and communication of project status internally
  • Research technical issues and discuss with Manager/Partner for further guidance
  • Performing other related duties as required

Required Skills and Qualifications

  • Experience using at least two of the following: QuickBooks, SAGE, Navision (Microsoft Dynamics), ProAlpha, Datev, SAP
  • Able to work in a fast paced high pressure environment
  • Strong knowledge of US-GAAP
  • Proven expertise in MS Word and MS Outlook with a working knowledge of MS Excel, and Adobe software applications
  • Demonstrate high-level client-service orientation, ability to handle sensitive, confidential information with maximum discretion and understanding of clients’ needs
  • Ability to prioritize and multi-task – strong time management skills
  • Team player with the ability to understand challenges facing partners and staff members and be able to manage/reschedule priorities effectively

Additional Requirements  

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting or higher
  • Strong interpersonal and oral/written/presentation communication skills required
  • Minimum of 1+ years of relevant accounting experience, preferably in a public accounting environment, which included preparing financial statements and communicating with clients on a daily basis
  • German language skills are a plus, but not required
