Image Analysis at HeartFlow:

HeartFlow’s Image Analysis team develops the cloud processing technologies that automatically analyze cardiac CTA scans. The team also develops the interactive algorithms that an in-house team of experts use to review and correct the processed data. Because HeartFlow stores all the received CTA scans together with the reviewed annotations it has access to an unprecedented amount of annotated medical image data. This allows HeartFlow’s Image Analysis team to develop ground-breaking Deep Learning technology to further improve the HeartFlow Analysis. 

Job Description:

This position is for a developer working in HeartFlow’s Image Analysis team who will work on a variety of software development tasks, including implementing new algorithms, refactoring existing algorithms, developing deep learning infrastructure, designing and implementing algorithmic tests for existing algorithms, and building interactive tools. In addition to performing the primary development activities listed above, the candidate may be responsible for general bug fixing, enhancements, test suite development, user support and participation in all other activities defined in the company’s product development process and as requested by their manager.

Job Responsibilities:

  • Implement, test and deploy image analysis and machine learning algorithms based on scientific papers.
  • Implement deep learning systems that allow, for example, advanced monitoring of training and efficient hyper-parameter optimization using multiple cloud instances.
  • Refactor existing algorithm code to improve modularity, readability and maintainability.
  • Optimize existing algorithms to reduce computational complexity
  • Implement unit tests and regression tests for existing algorithm code and fix bugs when discovered.
  • Adherence to and active participation in the continuous development and improvement of all software quality policies and processes

  • Developing stable production code
  • Modern software development tools (bug tracking systems, source code revision control, automated testing)

Educational Requirements & Work Experience:

  • MS Computer Science or related field with 4+ years relevant experience
  • or PhD in Computer Science or related field with 2+ years relevant experience
