Commercial Training Manager

The Commercial Training Manager is responsible for designing and coordinating training programs to improve and evaluate HeartFlow’s global commercial team competencies. You will work with various stakeholders to define training and education goals and provide metric-driven evaluation of our organization’s progress. Overall responsibility includes program design, learning systems, delivery, metrics, testing, and ongoing gap-analysis of training and competency needs for new and current commercial team members.

This is a fulltime position with salary, benefits, and pre-ipo stock options. This position will work from our Redwood City, CA offices and require approximately 25-50% travel to support our field teams. 


  • Lead development and execution of global commercial training program for new employees and continuing education for existing employees. Offer best-in-class education of HeartFlow’s unique product and market to improve the competencies of our sales, clinical, and technical field teams.
  • Establish objectives and metrics to evaluate field team competencies, advancement, and understanding of training program material.
  • Maintain training curriculum and learning management system. Coordinate training calendar and plan in-person and remote training sessions.
  • Build and maintain knowledge base of information for employees to reference.
  • Partner with commercial business leaders and field sales leaders to ensure global training needs are met and adapted over time to meet our goals.
  • Partner with subject matter experts to design training and evaluation materials. Assume role of subject matter expert for HeartFlow’s curriculum over time.
  • Collaborate with Regulatory, HR, and Marketing to ensure training meets quality and messaging requirements. 

Required experience and knowledge

  • Bachelor’s Degree in related field, preferably business, science, or education.
  • 5+ years of commercial and sales training experience including design and implementation of field education programs.
  • Previous medical device or healthcare experience working in a sales or clinical capacity. Experience with cardiology anatomy, procedures, and physiology is preferred.
  • Fluency in Japanese is desired (not required)
  • Adept at learning new clinical, medical, and technical knowledge
  • Expertise with in-person and remote learning methodologies to train and evaluate professionals
  • Self-motivating, able to independently manage projects and deadlines and contribute both individually and as a leader
  • Excellent presentation, written, and verbal communication skills.
