Director of Professional Education - Medical Device

The Director of Professional Education is responsible for developing and leading HeartFlow’s professional education program on a global basis. This person will coordinate efforts to educate physicians, technicians, and administrators on the adoption and optimal use of HeartFlow and related technologies. Responsibilities include determining the needs of physicians and other stakeholders, designing education programs to meet these needs, and working closely with leading physicians on the implementation of these programs.

This is a fulltime position with salary, benefits, and pre-IPO stock options. This position will work from our Redwood City, CA offices and require approximately 25-50% travel to support our field teams.


  • Lead the development and execution of HeartFlow’s professional education efforts aimed at physicians, technicians, and administrators.
  • Determine customer needs related to training, education, peer-to-peer learning, and user communities. Develop initiatives and programs to meet these needs.
  • Design and implement education courses aimed at key stakeholders. Identify appropriate faculty and develop content.
  • Lead efforts to create a HeartFlow education center.
  • Develop and manage a HeartFlow Center of Excellence program that recognizes leading centers and physicians and encourages the dissemination of best practices related to CTA and FFRct usage.
  • Lead efforts to create a HeartFlow user community and facilitate peer-to-peer interactions among HeartFlow users.
  • Partner as needed with scientific societies and industry to facilitate education and professional development efforts.
  • Collaborate with Clinical, Regulatory, and Commercial teams to develop programs and ensure compliance of all efforts.

Required experience and knowledge

  • Bachelor’s Degree in related field, preferably business, science, or education.
  • 7+ years of medical professional education experience including design and implementation of programs.
  • Previous medical device or healthcare experience in a clinical, marketing or related capacity. Experience with cardiology is preferred.
  • Outstanding project management, organization, and leadership skills.
  • Significant experience working closely with leading physicians on clinical and educational programs.
  • Self-motivating, able to contribute both individually and as a leader.
  • Excellent presentation, written, and verbal communication skills.
