The Vice President, Education Strategic Business, is responsible for defining the business plans, financial projections, organizational structure, marketing, sales, product and customer success strategy for Code42’s Education business unit.  You also provide leadership to the team responsible for acquiring, growing and retaining customers in the Education industry vertical.

This role will also develop relationships at an executive level within a targeted set of strategic accounts to drive growth and maintain our trusted advisor position.  In summary, you are the eyes and ears on the Education industry, defining how we can provide differentiating utility to Education customers at-large and grow our customer base by aligning our strategic value to meet customer needs.


This role is responsible for understanding the client’s business needs, developing plans to grow our revenue directly by acquiring and growing customers in the Education industry vertical. This individual is responsible for managing a team to a set of defined revenue targets (new, renewal & upsell) and driving a regular cadence of territory reviews and account plans. The leader will be responsible for developing account strategies and plays to deliver strategic value to our customers. The team is also responsible for building long-term, strategic business relationships that will lead to increased revenue growth, revenue retention and increase client satisfaction.

YOU’LL BE RESPONSIBLE FOR:
  • Serves as the segment leader by developing the business strategy, organizational structure, marketing and sales plans for growing our business in the Education vertical
  • Grow our influence in the Education space as participants in events, generating thought leadership, developing our Education client advisory board, etc. 
  • Provides leadership to a team comprised of Sales, Customer Success, Marketing and Solution Engineering Resources to achieve revenue targets
  • Provides direction and guidance to Product Management to drive Education-related product enhancements and roadmap plans
  • Drives the growth of Code42 as a hands-on executive, directly engaged with account management, forecasting results and closing opportunities. 
  • Drives new business prospect activities, relationship development activities and promotes working collaboration with appropriate team members across the organization to drive new business
  • Understands client business needs, participates in solution development and effectively communicates plans for executing against vision.
  • Develops a high performing team through rigorous hiring, certification and management programs.  Develops talented individuals who can act as strategic advisors and deliver value to our customers.
  • Manages and expands client relationships through continual needs assessment. Ensures client satisfaction and executes client reference-ability process
SKILLS AND REQUIREMENTS:
  • Bachelor’s degree required.
  • Prior experience in selling or supporting Education customers.  Expertise in policies, budget process, buying protocol and relationship building in the Education space.
  • 10+ years in client-facing team leadership and account management, account relationship strategy experience
  • Exceptional leadership skills: a strong recruiter and motivator of people.
  • Ability to work in a high velocity, high activity environment.
  • Proven track record demonstrating years of leadership experience in driving acquisition sales and relationship and customer account management
  • Outstanding negotiation and selling skills that have been proven through consistent ability to achieve sales targets and manage large, complex organizations
