This is a unique opportunity for someone who is looking to gain a vast knowledge base in a fast paced, rapidly growing organization. The Senior Accountant will report to the Accounting Manager, with dotted line reporting to the AP Manager, and will support the financial statement close process and work closely with the accounts payable team.
WHAT YOU’LL BE DOING:
- Performs general ledger accounting including cross department allocations, journal entries, account analysis, and reconciliation. Areas of focus will include, but not be limited to, fixed assets and related depreciation, prepaids and related amortization and accrued expenses
- Analyzes balance sheet accounts and researches and resolves reconciling items
- Participates in the month, quarter, and year-end close process as well as financial statement audits
- Reviews expenses for actual to budget variances as well as month over month variances
- Review Accounts Payable invoices for accurate general ledger coding
- Assist AP Manager with all aspects of our Concur Travel & Expense system and Concur PO
- Act as a backup for accounts payable staff when AP Manager is unavailable
SKILLS AND REQUIREMENTS:
- Minimum five years of experience
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting
- Working knowledge of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP)
- Advanced MS Excel skills
- Ability to multi-task and be a team player
- Strong oral and verbal communication skills
- Ability to perform and make decisions under pressure and strict deadlines; excellent time management skills
- Strong attention to detail
- Demonstrated history of honesty and professionalism
- Strong problem solving, analytical, and organizational skills to prioritize workload in order to meet tight deadlines
PREFERRED:
- Certified Public Accountant or Certified Management Accountant
- Experience using Intacct (or another cloud-based ERP) and Concur
- Combination of public accounting and industry experience
- Experience in a high growth or technology environment
