About the role

The Assistant Controller will play an integral role on the Finance team, upholding the integrity of the general ledger of multiple entities, manage and develop Junior Accountant, overseeing all accounting activities, and reporting and communicating financial results to upper management.  This position requires strong attention to detail, organization and communication skills, with the ability to research and resolve issues. Collaboration in a cross functional team environment and effectively interacting with all levels of the organization, external auditors and vendors is critical.

Key Responsibilities

  • Manage the general ledger and financial reporting process, including month-end, quarter-end, and year-end closings.
  • Assist with developing, implementing and maintaining accounting policies and procedures as directed by Group Finance.
  • Ensure all documents and procedures are current.
  • When required, review and approve journal entries and reconciliations.
  • Manage international consolidation as part of month-end closing.
  • Serves as a resource for FP&A team to explain accounting transactions, resolves accounting issues and/or discrepancies.
  • Manage Junior Accounting Team.
  • Balance Sheet Management and Review.
  • Vendor payment management.
  • Ad hoc projects.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in accounting 
  • Minimum of 3 years of experience in a management role.
  • Strong understanding of GAAP, IFRS 15 and ASC 606 Revenue Recognition 
  • Ability to identify, analyze, and resolve issues independently.
  • Experience working with a variety systems., Preferred:  NetSuite experience
  • Demonstrates a commitment to accuracy and quality while meeting goals and deadlines.
  • Self-directed, proactive, and maintains a strong sense of personal accountability.
  • Demonstrates a process improvement mindset and problem-solving abilities.
  • Possesses excellent written and oral communication skills.
