Associate Director, Business Strategy

Arnold’s Business Strategy Department is a team of ex-strategy consultants, corporate strategists, and MBAs who use a broad research and analytics toolkit to provide clients and internal Arnold stakeholders with in-depth marketplace, consumer, competitor, and business understanding to accelerate brand and business growth.



Associate Director

An Associate Director manages client and new business projects, driving to insights and implications that point to business opportunities and growth.  The Associate Director typically manages projects across 2-3 larger clients and multiple small to mid-sized client.  The Associate Director also contributes to the development of the department.



Strategic Insight & Implication Development

  • Demonstrates critical thinking and perspective, leading thinking around implications and recommendations from insights
  • Leads hypothesis-driven analysis and creates well-defined analysis plans and strategic frameworks
  • Proficient with multiple research methodologies and can employ the appropriate methodology and manage research to be used to address different objectives
  • Ensures high quality deliverables and responsible for quality of all deliverables across all projects managed
  • Delivers business insights that inform creative work and lead to new opportunities for our clients and for Arnold


Project Management

  • Effectively leads and manages multiple projects concurrently
  • Viewed as strategic leader on clients and projects
  • Understands client organizational dynamics and works well within them
  • Leads development of project timelines and budgets and tracks progress against those timelines and budgets
  • Effectively manages internal and external project resources
  • Develops proposals and SOWs based on identified opportunities



  • Professionally and effectively communicates a strong strategic POV to internal project teams and clients based on high quality research, analysis, and interpretation
  • Communicates effectively at all levels and across departments

  • Demonstrates ability to influence the audience, whether that be a client audience or internal staff

Master of Business Administration (MBA) from a leading business school required.  An ideal candidate will also have

  • 5-7 years of strategy consulting, corporate strategy, or brand management experience (including project management)
  • Past experience with market research, including designing methodologies and/or interpreting results
  • Be highly self-motivated
  • Thrive in a fast-paced, collaborative environment
  • Have strong quantitative, analytical and communication skills
  • Exhibit an aptitude for business and marketing insights and implications


Additionally, candidates should have past experience in leading and managing multiple projects concurrently as well as experience managing and mentoring employees.
