Data Analyst - AJ+

Job Purpose Summary:

The Audience Development and Strategy team at AJ+ is looking for a bright data analyst with experience in digital media to help us identify trends in content consumption and translate them into
actionable insights.

If you join us, you’ll work with audience development strategists and content creators alike to bring data-driven answers to some of our most pressing questions.

Key Responsibilities and Accountability:

  • Measure, document, model, and communicate the impact of content strategies and experiments on
  • key metrics like page and video views, impressions, watch time, retention, demographics, etc.
  • Work closely with audience development to provide sound analysis and actionable insights
  • Lead regular business performance meetings with editorial teams
  • Develop effective ways to automate reporting through existing tools
  • Inform efforts to refine the internal content tagging system

Job Requirements / Qualifications:

  • 3+ years’ experience in digital media, preferably with multimedia (text, video, newsletters)
  • A high level of mathematical ability, demonstrated through education and or direct experience
  • Excellent communication skills, whether speaking, writing, or creating data visualizations
  • Mastery of Excel/Google Sheets, and presentation software (Keynote/PowerPoint)
  • Basic understanding of video platform analytics (YouTube/Instagram/Twitter/Facebook/etc.)
  • Experience with Tableau, Google Data Studio, and Looker
  • Interest in news and current events
