WRAL TechWire Technology Reporter/Editor
Capitol Broadcasting Company is searching for an exceptional multi-platform journalist to help plan and manage technology and life science coverage for WRAL TechWire.
This person will be responsible for enterprise reporting, responding to daily assignments from the editor, be responsible for TechWire as editor-in-charge during absences of the editor, and working with free-lance writers as an assigning editor/copy editor when necessary.
The reporter also will be responsible when required for coordinating coverage with other WRAL divisions, including TV, radio and digital platforms.
This person also will generate new ideas and processes for presenting tech/life science coverage.
The successful candidate will have strong organizational skills, experience using web publishing platforms such as WordPress, and working with social media tools such as LinkedIn, Facebook and Twitter.
The reporter/editor should have at least five years of experience.
Preference will be given to candidates with strong writing and editing skills and knowledge of AP Style who are willing to be trained on other skills such as video reporting/editing and being interviewed on TV newscasts
