Position Title: Senior Financial Analyst
Department: Accounting
Reports To: Regional Controller
Location: Greater Toronto Area (Hybrid: 1 day/week in the office: Guelph, ON Location)
Description:
As a key member of the Accounting Team, the senior financial analyst is responsible for managing all aspects related to the monthly reporting packages, tracking financial performance against the business plan, assist management take strategic decisions by providing periodic analysis reporting.
Responsibilities:
- Cash management including processing vendor and inter-company payments globally.
- Prepare monthly financial reports for multi entities including variance analysis vs budget
- Support global consolidation and reporting processes.
- Support Annual Operating Plan and expense budgets for sale, service, and holding entities, and perform financial KPI analysis.
- Organize data into accessible reports and perform various types of analysis using key metrics such as yearly growth, and profit forecast vs. budget.
- Improvement of the current reporting package.
- Drive support to daily business, and partner closely with projects development /operations/ manufacturing/O&M teams.
- Assist with government tax audits and financial audits.
- Develop and support the implementation of financial models in order to build budget/ KPI.
- Create ad-hoc analytical tasks and communicate findings to the management as assigned.
Qualifications and Experience:
- Currently pursuing CPA, CFA, or near completion.
- Strong understanding of P&L, Balance Sheet, Cash Flow, and Financial Statements in general.
- A university business degree in accounting, and finance.
- A minimum of 3-5 years of accounting experience.
- Advanced user of Microsoft Excel.
- An effective communicator, both spoken and written.
- Able to work in a dynamic, complex, fast-paced environment.
- Ability to work cross-functionally, collaboratively, and cross-culturally.
Nice to Have:
- Experience with SAP or other ERP system.
- Knowledge of multi-currency transactions, in a multinational environment.
- Experience within the renewable energy sector
