The Planning group provides fully integrated planning and management as well as project development services for our clients. The group encompasses four subgroups: Planning & Management; Freight & Economics; Transit + Shared Mobility; and Intelligent Transportation Systems (ITS) & Technology Planning. We apply our national knowledge and leadership while leveraging the strength of regional expertise to bring experience from across the country and extensive Federal level to intimate understanding of our clients’ needs.   
This is an exciting opportunity for someone with an entrepreneurial spirit and a passion for improving transportation safety. The Safety Practice Lead will drive our growth in our safety business by developing and executing a market strategy that draws on the full capabilities of our firm and marshalling the collective skills and expertise of our proven safety team.  Building on our strong book of business, the Safety Practice Lead will: establish a national strategy to grow our core business while expanding into new opportunities; expand our pipeline of Federal, state, and local safety opportunities; actively market new and existing clients; and coordinate with the Safety Team Lead in directing the pursuits of our safety team.   
They will have responsibility for:  
•Developing a national strategy aligned with achieving our Collective Ambition and financial goals; 
•Directing the business development pursuits of our safety team and collaborating with experts from other business areas (e.g., general planning, transit + shared mobility, analytics, digital transformation, software) to execute the strategy; 
•Building strategic relationships with existing and prospective priority clients and teaming partners in order to expand our pipeline of opportunities; and 
•Leading high-profile projects across the country that support our client’s safety objectives. 
The ideal candidate will have 5-10 years of demonstrated success in growing a book of business and building a pipeline to complete the work. The candidate will have strong and established relationships with many Federal USDOT agencies, MPOs and/or State DOTs. They understand the current and emerging trends in safety, as well as needs of diverse clients in this area, including those at the Federal, state, local, and regional levels.  They are highly skilled at positioning for, winning, managing, and delivering project work that exceeds client expectations.   
Salary: $140k+
