Classification: Regular, Full Time, Exempt       

Salary Range:  $175-195k DOE + Benefits

Position Description: Under supervision of the Facility Director, the Director of Nursing will support in oversight of psychiatric services, hire, and supervise all nursing personnel, and provide nursing leadership and management within the Willow MHRC.  
  
Essential Duties & Responsibilities:  
  
  • Plan, direct, monitor and evaluate the effectiveness of comprehensive nursing services.
  • Direct, coordinate, and participate in the development and implementation of goals, objectives, policies, procedures, and priorities that balance health care needs with all applicable standards for accreditation, quality assurance, and safe patient care.
  • Meet documentation standards set by BHRS, MediCal and Caminar.
  • Triage urgent or emergent needs.
  • Serve as a resource in interdisciplinary team to ensure quality client care.
  • Review and approval all referrals into the MHRC to ensure that the program is able to meet client’s medical and nursing care needs.
  • Communicate as needed with referring parties about special treatment issues.
  • Communicate as needed with hospitals regarding clients who are transferred to an inpatient unit and will be returning to the Willow MHRC.
  • Ensure that the program is stocked with necessary supplies.
  • Plan, Create, Implement, and Monitor policies and procedures for Willow MHRC Nursing services to ensure optimal efficiency, quality client care, and safety of all staff and clients.
  • Maintain qualifications, skills, and ability to provide direct nursing care of Caminar clients as outlined in Registered Nurse duty statement and provide direct client care as needed.
  • Participate in promoting a safe, healthy, and clean working environment at all times consistent with applicable laws, industry standards and the agency’s own Health & Safety Program.
  • Drive own or agency vehicle to main office, meetings, and other venues, as required; documenting and reporting mileage according to agency procedures, so that services can be provided in a timely manner; comply with agency vehicle policy at all times.

Requirements, Qualifications, Skills & Abilities:  
  
  • Personal qualities of integrity, accountability, and an unwavering commitment to Caminar’s mission.
  • Graduate from an accredited school of Nursing and hold a valid RN license from the California Board of Nursing.
  • Must have at least one year of experience in nursing supervision within the last five (5) years. Experience in psychiatric rehabilitation, preferably in a social rehabilitation environment is preferred.
  • Knowledge of the following evidence-based models: Psychosocial Rehabilitation, Harm Reduction, and Motivational Interviewing is preferred.
  • Demonstrated knowledge of CARF accreditation process.
  • Excellent computer skills in a Microsoft Windows environment including email and Internet navigation required. Experience with Human Service Information Systems strongly preferred. Experience with web-based time and attendance and staff training and development system is strongly preferred. Ability to maintain a high level of confidentiality, a professional demeanor and to always represent the organization in a positive manner.

Special Requirements:  
  • Must be able to meet and receive a criminal records clearance, as required by California Code, Welfare and Institutions Code - WIC § 5405 and Caminar practices.
  • This position requires frequent driving.  A valid California driver license, current personal auto insurance as required by law, and an MVR sufficient to obtain and reasonably maintain insurability under agency auto liability policies are all essential job requirements.
  • A personal cell phone with reliable service and, if applicable, a data plan to use for business purposes.
  • Must be able to pass post-offer, pre-employment medical and drug tests as required under State Licensing regulations and/or agency policies.
  • Must obtain and maintain First Aid and CPR certification.
