Tier 1 Engineer
As a Tier 1 Engineer, your job functions are focused on repairing computers and printers inside and outside the CalTech office. A Tier 1 Engineer is the first line of client telephone technical support and support for the company office. Being customer service oriented is essential to the success of this position. Basic working knowledge of personal computers and printers required. A college degree is preferred, and some after-hours work is required.
Must complete and obtain either a current A+, Network + or Security + certification and a current Microsoft Certified Solutions Associate (MCSA) certification within 120 days after the start of employment. CalTech provides our employees with a vast amount of study material and even helps to pay the cost of the certifications. To graduate to Tier 2, you will need to obtain your Cisco Certified Network Associate (CCNA).

Tier 3 Engineer
As a Tier 3 Engineer, you will be accountable for all aspects of Information Technology provided to our clients. This position includes - but is not limited to - the design, installation, implementation, and troubleshooting of the physical network and the network operating system.
To reach Tier 3, you must have and maintain any one of the following: Microsoft Certified Solutions Expert (MCSE) certification, Cisco Certified Network Professional (CCNP), Cisco Certified Design Professional (CCDP), or Certified Information System Security Professional (CISSP) certification.
