Position Summary

The Team Leader, Northern Border Operations reports to the Entry Control Manager, Northern Border and is an integral part of the leadership team in the Port Huron facility.  The primary role of this position is to help the Manager effectively manage the employee base and be the client liaison to work towards increased client satisfaction.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Preparation of customs and internal documents
  • Tariff classification and research 
  • Prompt, efficient and professional response to all queries
  • Assist in team training
  • Maintain service to all US accounts including client information, missing information requests and reporting custom service needs
  • Reports any problems or issues directly to their Manager
  • Ongoing training to increase knowledge of new customs polices and/or regulations
  • On-call responsibilities (evenings and weekends)
  • Ability to travel between Canada and the USA to other offices

 

The ideal candidate will bring:

  • College diploma or high school diploma and relevant experience
  • CCS Designation or LCHB training
  • Microsoft Office including Excel, Word, Outlook
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Team player ability to display leadership qualities to the team
  • Training skills support management in training and team building
  • Positive Attitude and Willing to devote themselves to finding a solution
  • Ability and desire to visit Canadian locations
  • US Team Leader is a Non-Exempt position
