About the Role

 

We are looking for an operationally focused, relentlessly driven, empathetic People leader who thrives at problem-solving. This is a high-impact role for someone who loves challenges - we will be scaling from a handful of staff to thousands of employees in the next few years. The ideal candidate comes has a commercial background with strong cognitive ability and problem-solving skills. You may have retail, operations, or consulting experiences, with a strong track record managing organisations and people in very fast-paced environments. You are energetic, tireless, relentless, and you are comfortable dealing with people of all backgrounds. 

 

This role will be based in Monrovia and you will report into the Director, People for Shared Services.


What You Will Do

  • Lead People Operations as a service to our employees and school staff under the LEAP programme. This would refer to the complete life cycle inclusive of: onboarding & induction, contracts, leave management, performance management, disciplinary proceedings, grievance handling.
  • Solve daily operational issues using data, empathy and in accordance with our internal policies and procedures.
  • Leverage our internal systems to use People data effectively.
  • Align company processes and policies with best practices and employment/labor regulations in all countries of operations.
  • Lead talent acquisition to ensure that we are hiring right and on time.
  • Ensure efficient administration of all our premises and build a strong Administration team that is focused on creating a safe and secure environment for staff. This team will also be your support in leading employee engagement initiatives and flagbearer of our unique culture.


What You Should Have

 

  • Bachelor’s degree in business or other related field with strong academic credentials
  • Minimum of ten years of significant experiences in operational roles for rapidly scaling companies; 5 years as a leader
  • Strong analytical thinker, ideally with previous experience commercial operations.
  • Self-driven
  • Emerging markets experience required
  • Strong leadership skills and demonstrated ability to work with a very diverse workforce

You can multi-task dozens of such projects at once and never lose sight of the details. Likely, you have some experience in a start-up or other rapid-growth company.

On top of that, Bridge works in often fragile, sometimes volatile low-resource communities and with complex government systems.
