SUMMARY OF POSITION:

The Account Director is the primary senior client lead, responsible for the overall strength, profitability, and growth of assigned accounts.  This position is tasked with managing key Agency clients on a day-to-day basis, facilitating organic account growth, and guiding a dedicated Account Team to support the client. This position will also participate in business development activities, including growing existing business and pitching new business.
 

RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Develop business, marketing, and advertising strategies on assigned accounts

 

  • Establish strategies for development of media plans and evaluation of their effectiveness

 

  • Establish strategies for development of effective creative; oversee team on all creative and production related projects; lead cross-functional team in pursuit of great work

 

  • Facilitate cross-departmental collaboration, ensuring creative and media strategies are on brand

 

  • Work with the Client Services Director to understand and drive Agency profitability on assigned accounts, ensuring that client needs are met, resources are engaged and accounts are running profitably

 

  • Work with the Client Services Director to compile staffing plans and scope of work documents based on client opportunity

 

  • Oversee multiple complex projects/accounts with simultaneous deadlines through effective account management

 

  • Maintain relationships with key client contacts, providing strategic guidance, recommendations, and leadership

 

  • Manage, mentor, and grow direct reports on the Account Team

 

  • Participate in and contribute to organic client growth and new business activities of the agency as required

 
DESIRED SKILLS & EXPERIENCE:

  • 8-10 years of advertising agency experience, with demonstrated progression within Account Management discipline
  • Bachelor’s degree
  • Experience in strategic planning, marketing communications, and creative brief development
  • Experience successfully navigating, understanding, and solving difficult marketing and advertising questions
  • Strong knowledge of both traditional and digital advertising programs
