Description

Responsibilities:

  • Drive the artistic look, feel, and quality of art assets that capture the imagination and deliver on our partners’ creative vision for their projects
  • Collaborate with creative Leads to establish and communicate the artistic vision of each project
  • Assist in the creation of Art Bibles, documentation, concept art, or mood boards
  • Hands-on contribution to artwork that defines and enhances the visual quality of each project
  • Communicate and collaborate with other departments, executive staff and external clients and partners in a diplomatic and personable manner
  • Work with Production to schedule and track tasks that help our art team execute on our goals as efficiently as possible
  • Coordinate with HR to review, interview, and hire candidates
  • Encourage the professional growth and development of the art team
  • Assist in the evaluation and selection of external partners and outsourcing vendors
  • Manage the quality of work submitted by external partners and outsourcing vendors through reviews, documentation and additional materials

 

Qualifications:

You will help to build and inspire a team of game artists for both 2D and 3D projects. You might work on only one project at a time or up to three smaller projects at once.   • At least 5 years of experience working in AAA game development as an Art Director, Associate AD, or Lead Artist
  • Experience leading a creative team in crafting a distinct, cohesive visual style
  • Experience utilizing outsourcing to dynamically increase art production
  • Ability to provide creative leadership through focused and inspiring reviews
  • Extensive experience and expertise in at least one art field (e.g., character, environment, concept)
  • Significant experience working with one or more industry-standard engines, such as UE4 or Unity
  • Expert level user of industry-standard software applications, such as Photoshop, Maya, ZBrush and Substance Painter
  • Values-driven and inclusive, committed to doing the right thing and being respectful, with both internal staff and externally partners
  • Fearless when trying out new tools with a commitment to keeping up with the latest industry standards, best practices and approaches to creative projects
  • Commitment to mentor-ship and exchanging knowledge, advice, and best practices with your colleagues

 

Experience:

  • 5+ years of experiencing working in AAA game development as an Art Director, Associate Art Director, or Art Lead
  • Shipped at least two AAA titles as an Art Director, Associate Art Director, or Art Lead
