The Opportunity: BlackLine is looking for a Senior Implementations Consultant to join our growing Professional Services team. As a Senior Implementations Consultant, you are a trusted and seasoned advisor to our clients. This senior-level role will work with executives, senior managers, and project teams to ensure overall project success. You will be leading workshops, aligning business processes, configuring the BlackLine application, and guiding our clients on successful implementations and effective engagement. You will be an expert on the BlackLine product suite and make sure that projects are delivered on time, within budget, and that delivery follows proper project governance. You are comfortable navigating escalations and influencing various stakeholders with strategic direction. As part of the growing client-facing team, you will apply your critical thinking and problem-solving skills to help our clients determine how they can best scale their impact. This role will report to the Implementations Regional Manager and will be based in North America.


  • Manage a diverse portfolio and deliver large-scale implementation projects, spanning multiple sectors, with our largest and most strategic customers
  • Utilize business acumen and product knowledge to serve as a trusted advisor and become an application expert to address client use cases and business challenges
  • Build strong and positive relationships with client contacts, including executive sponsors and management for the duration of the project and post-delivery transition
  • Drive analysis and client recommendations at both strategic and operational levels, based on project objectives
  • Interpret and translate client requirements for application configuration and liaison with developers to build and test solutions
  • Be highly responsive to client communications and proactively research, resolve issues, and provide best practices
  • Manage project deliverables from beginning to end and define and confirm scope, ensuring that all specifications are clearly defined to satisfy expectations
  • Establishes a strategy of continuous risk management that enables proactive decisions and actions throughout the project life cycle including budgetary, timeline and performance considerations
  • Develop expertise on the full range of BlackLine product modules
  • Lead, mentor, train and coach junior implementation consultants to complete project outputs
  • Approximately 30% travel required

  • Proven experience to balance multiple projects at any given time and stay on top of all details
  • Ability to facilitate and harness cross-team collaboration working with teams in-person and virtually
  • Demonstrated experience communicating and presenting to a diverse set of people across groups and organizational levels
  • Positive attitude and customer-centric; strong focus on customer success
  • Knowledge of build systems and software development tools
  • Bachelor's degree and/or 5+ years related experience
  • Knowledge/experience in Accounting, Audits, Financial Services, Software Technology, SaaS industry and/or related experience
  • Demonstrated project management skills
  • Professional experience in consulting, technology implementation, change management or related field expertise
  • Expertise with installation, configuration, troubleshooting, and support of software application
  • Strong client relationship skills
  • Excellent communication skills, strong organizational skills and attention to detail are essential 
  • Knowledge of MS Office, MS Project, Salesforce/CRM, Accounting Software
  • Knowledge of accounting terminology and processes (eg month end close process)
  • Experience in SaaS industry and/or Software
  • Experience with large scale ERP systems including SAP and Oracle
