Description

Define, lead and implement procurement strategies for her/his assigned Raw Material categories, included chemicals and biological products. Manage assigned Raw Material portfolio by ensuring that any activity is conducted in accordance with the Category Strategy and Global Procurement Roadmap. Bring Procurement support and added values to operations, at site/region level and facilitate the Raw Material Procurement activities.


Primary Duties 

  • Drives the definition and implementation of Procurement strategies for their assigned commodities.
  • Accountable for the strategic deployment across the Company and functionally manage the Procurement network relevant for their assigned categories.
  • Responsible of the management of the portfolio on the following criteria: quality/compliance, cost, service, OTIF, CSR and risk management.
  • Manage supplier performance and manage Business Reviews.
  • Be a force of proposals on saving, innovation and CSR initiatives on the Procurement portfolio.
  • Prepare and lead commercial negotiations and contracting.
  • Acts as the Procurement referent and coordinator for the Function Management Committee.
  • Ensure that all the requirements of the functions are considered and addressed.
  • Guarantee and support the Performance transformation of the global Procurement department within his/her perimeter.
  • Perform all work in compliance with company quality procedures and standards.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.


Qualifications

  • Bachelor degree required in Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, Purchasing, Finance or Economics and 7+ years of experience in procurement, purchasing, supply chain, or similar field. 
    • OR HS diploma/GED and 11+ years of experience in procurement, purchasing, supply chain, or similar field. 

Preferred Education, Training and Experience

  • Experience in biotech industry is preferred 
  • Sciences (Biological or Chemical) background is a plus
  • Functional know-how: Preparing and leading negotiations, contract management and legal awareness, total cost management, managing multicultural interfaces, planning and organizing, global business acumen.

International travel required: 30% of time

The estimated salary range for this role based in Missouri is between $128,000 – 163,800. This role is eligible to receive a variable annual bonus based on company, team, and individual performance per bioMerieux’s bonus program. This range may differ from ranges offered for similar positions elsewhere in the country given differences in cost of living. Actual compensation within this range is determined based on the successful candidate’s experience and will be presented in writing at the time of the offer.
