Position Summary:

The IS Platform Manager is responsible to manage the IS support model for Work in Progress and associated label printing functions for the Salt Lake City site.  Primary responsibilities include management of established label printing procedures, working cross-functionally to source new label printing solutions, supplier negotiation, printer lifecycle management and employee training.   This role is expected to lead cross-departmental meetings regarding business needs and create new solutions/processes as required.
 
The Platform Manager will be capable of understanding the complex architecture/interaction between label printing solutions and how they are used within bioMerieux’s internal software suite and third-party automation platforms in order to provide value to the organization though high quality customer service to internal parties and create relationships with external vendors.

The Platform Manager will apply knowledge of IS principles, business processes and Good Manufacturing Practice (GMP) standards.  The Platform Manager will evaluate the integration dependencies associated with hardware, software, business requirements, and system characteristics while adhering to strategies, policies, and standards associated with task being performed.  Emphasis on a technical understanding of printing systems and their administration along with system configuration as needed.  
 
The Platform Manager will work on several projects simultaneously, following business processes to complete projects.  The role may interact with business or technical users through all levels of operations and management to provide understanding and insight in all label printing business processes. The Platform Manager must have the ability to work as part of a team.  Effective time management, analytical thinking skills, organization skills, and the ability to communicate effectively is important in role.
 
Primary Responsibilities:
  • Perform all work in compliance with company policy and within the guidelines of bioMerieux's Quality Systems
  • Participate in collaboration efforts with manufacturing and R&D teams 
  • Participate in supplier sourcing and negotiation requirements
  • Constructs forecasts, recommendations and strategic/ tactical plans based on business strategic planning
  • Participate in all applicable phases of the equipment life cycle and software life cycle
  • Partner with the business  and project teams by gaining an understanding of their needs and contribute to solutions that meet their goals/objectives
  • Contribute to preparation of comprehensive and thorough technical documentation. (e.g. technical specifications, V&V forms, etc.)
Education, Skills, & Experience:
  • Bachelor's degree in computer science, IS, IT or related field and 2+ years experience in people, project, or process management in IT, Software, Printing Services, or Manufacturing OR
    • High School Diploma/GED with 6 years of people, project, or process management in IT, Software, Printing Services, or Manufacturing
  • Experience in customer services with a high record of customer satisfaction.
  • Experience in software development and product lifecycle especially quality assurance processes.
  • Understands label printing best practices.
  • Proficient in MS Office Suite and flow chart software.
  • Demonstrated mechanical and software aptitude.
  • Experience with Good Manufacturing Practice (GMP) standards
  • Ensure effective knowledge transfer is planned and executed to support systems, process, people post project delivery.
