Sales Systems Engineer


Job Overview:

Big Switch Networks goes to market with a broad ecosystem of partners including strategic switch partners like Dell/EMC, HPE and Edgecore as well as key technology partners like VMware, Redhat, Nutanix and others. We are looking for a talented Systems engineer to be an integral part of the business development and strategic alliances team at Big Switch Networks. As a Systems Engineer, you will assist the director of business development with accelerating some of our key partnership initiatives including field enablement and training of partner sales teams, identifying joint solutions and managing specific solution integration projects from concept to launch.

Our Systems Engineer will ideally have in-depth, hands-on experience with Big Switch products and services as well as our partners and competitor's products and services, and can demonstrate strong networking and datacenter skills to partners.

Essential Functions & Responsibilities include but are not limited to:

  • In-depth understanding of both Big Switch products and where they fit in the partner portfolio and the value the Big Switch Products bring to the partner sales teams
  • Develop and deliver sales and SE training to the partner field teams globally including presentations and demonstrations of both BSN products and the joint solutions
  • Work closely with product management, engineering and executive teams to identify key areas of integration with a partner and manage the cross functional integration project
  • Use subject matter knowledge to define best practices for company's products routing applications from customer experience
  • Participate in mentoring fellow peers as needed

Minimum Qualifications / Experience:

  • College degree, BS/BA in EE/CS or equivalent (Required)
  •  5+ years’ experience as a systems engineer or technical marketing engineer in the Datacenter infrastructure space (Networking, Serves, Storage, Hyperconverged, Virtualization etc.)
  • Experience in supporting and managing large complex alliances
  • Strong understanding and knowledge of SDN and NFV technologies
  • Strong understanding of datacenter virtualization technologies, preferably Openstack
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills with the ability to present to a broad audience from technical to executive audiences
  • Ability to travel globally

Working Conditions:

  • 50%+ travel required.
  • US based (preferably at our corporate offices in Santa Clara)
