The Project Management Office (PMO) Snr Director, Principal Program Manager will have internal customer-facing lead and consulting responsibilities to include any activity related to program or project management, helping our internal customers meet the intended outcomes of their strategic business and technical objectives. This role is deeply involved in improving the consistency, predictability and efficiency of the organization’s project delivery capability.
Responsibilities include promotion of governance practices that support establishing and maintaining a portfolio view of the organization’s programs and projects. This visibility is intended to create an understanding of the work in progress and the cost benefits of these programs and projects so that executive leadership across the organization can collaborate and manage prioritization of resources and deliverables.
The PMO Snr Director, Principal Program Manager is highly customer-focused, partnering with internal executive customers.
This role provides leadership in best practices ensuring that the deliverables of the PMO are consistent with customer expectations.
The PMO Snr Director, Principal Program Manager partners with all areas of the operations, focusing on the interface between project leaders, project teams, and technology.
In addition, the PMO Snr Director, Principal Program Manager monitors project cost, the profit and loss for each program, and ascertains that payment collections are performed efficiently and timely from a project management perspective.
Worked on high-impact issues or critical assignments, with influence on future concepts, planning and implementation.
Held wide latitude in determining objectives, approaches and solutions. Established and maintained formal networks and professional relationships with key decision makers.
Managed (a) a large, complex, highly visible program with organization-wide impact; directed and controlled the activities of cross-functional project teams or (b) one or more portfolios with extensive scope and high complexity
Participated with Senior Management to establish corporate strategic plans and objectives
Leveraged diverse methods of media in conveying tailored information to special audiences, with ability to interact in polished and professional way in almost any circumstance
Subject matter expert in highly visible internal and/or external stakeholder situations
Provided high-level coaching and mentoring to Associate Project Managers, Project Managers and Senior Project Managers, as well as other functional areas or groups
Regularly interacted with executives and/or major customers by engaging in controversial situations, customer negotiations, or influencing and persuading other senior level managers
Developed funding proposals
Exercised wide latitude in determining objectives and approaches to critical assignments and developing methods, techniques, and evaluation criteria for obtaining results
