The Opportunity
The Director, Patient Engagement Marketing is accountable for leading digital strategy for patients starting and staying on prescribed treatments in alignment with the end-to-end patient engagement strategy driven by Patient Services. Success requires experience in digital strategy, execution and optimization, building patient-centered solutions and a relentless desire to enhance patient satisfaction. This role requires a leader who works best cross-functionally creating solutions that are made better by input from internal teams, external partners, customers, patients and caregivers. This role reports to the Executive Director, Digital & Patient Engagement Marketing.
What You Will Contribute
  • Lead patient engagement digital strategy, planning and development (targeting, messaging, creative, channels) for patients starting and staying on prescribed treatments in alignment with the end-to-end patient engagement strategy driven by Patient Services. 
  • In partnership with IT and Patient Services, select and integrate patient engagement tools into the technology stack utilized to execute patient-focused digital strategies. 
  • Utilize data-driven insights and patient feedback to continuously refine digital engagement strategies, optimize performance, and enhance the patient experience. 
  • Own Patient Services patient-facing brand development reflecting the highly personalized support made available to patients and caregivers.   
  • Oversee all aspects of agency management, including maintaining the relationship, monitoring performance, aligning work to organizational objectives and driving continuous optimization of agency deliverables.
  • Collaborate cross-functionally with internal teams -- including brands, patient services, research and analytics, and IT -- to create a seamlessly integrated patient experience across all patient touchpoints.
  • Provide input to the holistic view of the patient journey, determine critical moments/barriers in the patient journey and aim content at overcoming those barriers.
  • Develop and execute media plans and creative assets used to create patient awareness of the patient services program, when appropriate.
  • Set goals, monitor key performance metrics, and provide regular reporting and analysis to stakeholders – highlighting successes, areas for improvement and actionable insights.
  • Lead development of the digital patient engagement annual strategic, tactical and operational plans, and budget coordinating across internal business partners and external agency partners.
  • Drive review of key patient engagement marketing materials through the promotional review committee approval process.
  • Work closely with legal, regulatory and compliance teams to ensure compliance with all regulations, policies and procedures. 
  • Stay informed about the latest developments, best practices and emerging technologies for consideration of relevant innovations into future strategies.
What We Seek
  • 10+ years of experience in marketing within the biotechnology or pharmaceutical industry. 
  • 6+ years digital marketing experience with strong understanding of digital marketing principles, best practices, and emerging trends across multiple channels, including websites, email marketing, mobile apps, and social media.  
  • 6+ years of people leader experience. Ability to effectively manage and influence a team while balancing own work.  
  • Bachelor’s Degree required, advanced Degree in business or marketing preferred. 
  • Proven track record of developing, shaping, and optimizing the patient experience. 
  • Player/coach who thrives on the thrill of scaling new, innovative solutions, and enjoys being part of a collaborative team.  
  • Strong relationship-building and business-partnering experience across multiple departments, external partners, customers and patients; ability to successfully collaborate cross-functionally to achieve goals.  
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities with a data-driven approach to decision-making.  
  • Strong communication and presentation skills, with the ability to engage and influence internal and external stakeholders.  
  • Knowledge of regulatory and compliance requirements in pharmaceutical marketing. 
What We Will Provide to You 
  • The base salary range for this role is $212,100.00 - $234,500.00. The final compensation will be commensurate with such factors as relevant experience, skillset, internal equity and market factors.
