What will you do? As a Director of Business and Market Development you will be part of a dynamic sales organization representing a superior product. You are responsible for working with the current refuse sales team to market and sell a new product offering soon to launch. The Director of Business and Market Development is accountable for delivering growth in volume and market share with the new product by executing on proven strategies, Autocar’s business model and core operating principals. You will be the expert on this new product line, responsible for supporting our sales strategy at the site level by developing, and executing sales strategies with fleet, private and municipality channels on a National basis. You will visit predefined accounts and share the Autocar value proposition, and our service and parts’ benefits in an effort to support existing accounts and convert Legacy accounts; selling direct to the end user. This role will be focused on profitable growth and increased market share of this rapidly growing business sector.
Responsibilities: The successful candidate will draw upon their knowledge of the Refuse sector and across relevant industries to develop efficient processes that connect the end to end customer lifecycle with our internal organization
- Partner with Autocar’s refuse sales team, training, marketing and co-selling new product line’s specific value propositions with select customers
- Identify marketing materials needed and work with the appropriate people to develop or revise them
- Manage and optimize the customer lifecycle methods and process, responsible for increasing pipeline conversion, and continually finding new ways to improve targeting and realization of full market opportunities.
- Monitor effective benchmarks for measuring the impact of demand generation-related programs, and analyze, review, and report on effectiveness of campaigns/tactics in an effort to maximize results.
- Sell/close sales of new product line
What does it take to be a part of our team?
■ At least ten years’ experience in outside sales of waste industry
■ At least ten years previous B2B sales experience
■ Ability to cold call, make presentations, close sales
■ Demonstrated strong relationship builder
■ Knowledgeable in Microsoft Office and CRM a necessity
■ Ability to travel extensively (45 weeks out of the year)
■ Strong work ethic, desire to work hard, strive for results and win.
■ Quick learner who requires minimal supervision and possesses good problem solving skills
■ Team player with excellent oral and written communication and interpersonal skills
Where will you work? The Director of Business and Market Development will travel and must be based near a major airport with frequent travel to Birmingham, Alabama.
