Mission
The Sales Business Data Analyst supports the performance of all vocational Sales Teams by ensuring our teams operate with clean, accurate, and trusted data. This role owns the integrity of sales data and the management and operations of the CRM, enabling sales teams and leadership to make confident decisions, manage long-cycle opportunities, and scale best practices as the business grows.
This role sits at the intersection of technology, data, business analytics, and sales and is aimed at aligning operations in support of revenue generation. This position requires technical expertise, creative thinking, and analytical prowess, along with an ability to collaborate with technical and business stakeholders.
Description
We are seeking a Sales Business Data Analyst with a passion for both data and business. This hybrid role blends hands-on CRM administration with sales data governance and analytics. This individual will serve as the primary owner of Autocar’s sales CRM while establishing strong data standards, supporting the upkeep of historical data, and creating reliable reporting for Vocational Sales teams.
This role will work closely with sales leadership and field teams to understand how data is used in practice and ensure CRM workflows align with real-world sales processes. The ideal candidate thinks innovatively, embraces new approaches, and can rapidly prototype while also building long-term, scalable solutions. You combine data and analytical expertise with sales acumen to translate insights into strategic business outcomes and are adept at using modern AI tools to improve the CRM and optimize workflows.
This position offers strong visibility to the sales organization, with a clear growth path into more senior business analysis roles.
Top candidates will also have good written and verbal communication skills and excel at collaborating with both technical and business stakeholders.
Outcomes
- Complete a full CRM access audit
- Establish role-based permissions, and publish and maintain an active user directory with corresponding access levels
- Ensure >99% of inactive users are removed
- Ensure >99% of active accounts and activities are owned and assigned to an active user
- Purge CRM of all unused (>365 Days) modules, reports, and visualizations
- Reduce duplicate accounts to <2%
- Drive sales organization adoption of CRM
- Establish daily workbench for inside and outside sales associates
- Provide real time task tracking and automated follow-up task generation to drive sales activity
- Provide reporting for inside and outside sales management teams to track associates response time and activity levels
- Ensure CRM supports sales ability to forecast a 30/90-day pipeline as well as maintain and measure annual sales against a yearly Total Addressable Market estimate.
- Maintain >98% data accuracy across all required fields in CRM
- Accounts: Account Name, Ownership, Address, Phone #, Segment
- Opportunities: Opportunity Name, Vocation, Platform, Size
- Leads: Lead Ownership, Vocation, Platform, Time to Action
- Establish a monthly CRM audit, with documented corrective action tasks in the CRM and ensure 90%+ are completed within 30 days of creation
- Document and maintain CRM data standards and process guidelines with a corresponding proficiency assessment
- Provide bi-annual training to all inside and outside sales team representatives on CRM operations
- Establish an onboarding assessment and a yearly training assessment to ensure all members of the sales team organization demonstrate system proficiency
- Align CRM with other Autocar systems
- Collaborate with our IT team to conduct a system audit of MDM logic for account mapping and clean existing data to >75% of accounts verified as properly linked
- Establish formal new and changed account review with associated CRM tasks.
- All tasks completed within 3 business days
Key responsibilities:
CRM Administration
- Serve as the primary administrator for Autocar’s sales CRM.
- Manage user access, roles, permissions, workflows, fields, and layouts to support sales processes.
- Lead ongoing CRM configuration and support.
- Partner with internal teams on future CRM integrations as business needs evolve.
- Act as the first point of contact for CRM-related questions, troubleshooting, and enhancements.
Sales Data Stewardship & Governance
- Serve as a data steward for customer data in the CRM by owning the quality, accuracy, and consistency of all sales data, collaborating with cross-functional teams to enforce data quality controls and ensuring compliance with privacy regulations and company policies.
- Identify and resolve all instances of CRM data duplication, outdated records, and incomplete information.
- Define and enforce data standards, naming conventions, required fields, and validation rules for the CRM, while collaborating with our broader IT team to ensure all practices are aligned with corporate data policies
- Establish repeatable processes for CRM data hygiene and ongoing maintenance.
Reporting, Analytics & Insights
- Build and maintain CRM dashboards and reports for sales leadership and Vocational Sales teams.
- Support opportunity tracking, pipeline visibility, forecasting, and sales performance analysis.
- Provide ad-hoc analysis to answer business questions and support strategic decisions.
- Support all Vocational teams to translate CRM data into actionable insights that improve sales execution and accountability.
Sales Enablement & Collaboration
- Partner with outside and inside sales reps to ensure CRM usage Autocar sales.
- Train and coach users on proper CRM usage and data best practices.
- Serve as a trusted partner to sales leadership by promoting data-driven decision-making.
- Develop subject matter expertise in the heavy-duty truck industry, with a strong understanding of the market, its competitors and customers in support of Autocar’s business model.
- Develop a full understanding of Autocar sales and marketing processes, along with the systems that support them, to ensure alignment with the CRM
Requirements
Experience and Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field (e.g., Data Analytics, Statistics, Computer Science, Economics, or related).
- 2–5 years of experience in a CRM administration, sales operations, or data stewardship role.
- Hands-on experience administering a CRM platform (Zoho, Microsoft Dynamics, Salesforce, or similar), with practical experience on data cleaning, workflow design, and data governance processes strongly preferred.
- Strong understanding of sales pipelines, opportunity management, and sales terminology.
- Ability to build dashboards, reports, and basic forecasts that sales teams trust and use.
- Ability to collaborate with Sales, Marketing, and Leadership stakeholders in a fast-paced, practical environment.
Preferred Qualifications
- Working knowledge of AI tools (e.g., ChatGPT, Copilot, OpenAI APIs) to enhance sales efficiency and productivity.
- Industry experience in support of automotive, heavy-duty truck, or industrial equipment sales is a plus.
- Zoho Deluge Coding Experience

Where will you work? The Sales Business Data Analyst will be based out of our Birmingham, Alabama location. This position is on-site and does not provide a remote working option.
