What will you do? As an Engineering- Current Products, you will be responsible for supporting the first time yield and quality business targets by providing the production support function as first responder to any production problems that require engineering resolution. In addition this position supports on-line new design validation actions, as well as the introduction of new products to the production line.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities
¦ Act as Engineering liaison between design engineering, productivity engineering, quality, purchasing, production and materials departments.
¦ Investigate line issues and identify those that are really engineering related. Root cause and permanently resolve the issue through the change management process as required.
¦ Document liaison events using the Production-floor call procedure, ensuring Production Floor calls are resolved and closed in a timely manner.
¦ Act as troubleshooter in resolving assembly or routing issues while adhering to the Autocar routing and clipping standards.
¦ Coordinate process modifications and implementation with the Productivity Engineering team. Interface with the production floor on various production-related issues.

¦ Assist in implementation of new product/new design changes to production floor, documenting new build issues and following thru on corrective actions.
¦ Assist materials department in remedying various inventory control and part availability issues thru research on the problem and compatible part substitution.
¦ Perform continuous improvement efforts on current product.
¦ Interface with customers, manufacturing, quality and suppliers to clarify engineering data or customer requirements.
¦ Track and resolve BOM/EPL errors providing a weekly status report on root causes and corrective actions.
¦ Support the offshore engineering team during validation builds as well as gather and present information required for design projects to the offshore engineering team.

What does it take to be a part of our team?
¦ A formal technical/engineering qualification is a pre-requisite.
¦ One to two years of experience on the Autocar or any other HD truck production line, in a team lead/supervisory or manufacturing engineering role will be a definite advantage, but is not a pre-requisite.
¦ A thorough working knowledge of Team Center Engineering software as well as the MS Office Suite
¦ Quick learner who requires minimal supervision and possesses good problem solving skills
¦ Team player with excellent oral and written communication and interpersonal skills
¦ Ability to read and comprehend engineering drawings and brake system schematics.
¦ Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.
¦ Adapts to changes in the work environment; Manages competing demands; Changes approach or method to best fit the situation; Able to deal with frequent change, delays, or unexpected events.
