What will you do? The Vice President, Sourcing and Supply Chain will be responsible for leading all the Sourcing and Supply Chain efforts. This individual will direct a team of 15+ professional and direct labor employees. In this role, the individual will:   

  • Exceed customer expectations with the best possible service (execute as promised).
  • Lead/oversee suppliers, sourcing, negotiations, planning and coordinate with distribution.
  • Forecasting and demand planning
  • Develop a world class team and a strong portfolio of preferred partners (Partner without OE team to drive additional savings and opportunities)
  • Create/initiate/negotiate supplier cost savings and “sales” programs. LTAs included.
  • Identify and drive cost savings initiatives and strategic sourcing opportunities.
  • Manage KPIs (both internal and customer facing).
  • Drive performance, including Balance Sheet (inventory levels vs cash flow) and supporting sales and our customers (internal and external).
  • Foster a strong team environment backed up with strong communication (internal and external).

Other Job Responsibilities will include:   

  • Provide stable and effective leadership, support and direction to the facilities, in support of the vision of creating an organization dedicated to customer service, innovation, effectiveness, safety and flexibility.
  • Operate with a high level of business ethics and standards.
  • Ensure company’s OE purchasing (buying power) strengths are leveraged. Utilize these strengths across sales and marketing to drive the best possible competitive rates, pricing, margins, and supplier/vendor contracts for GVW.
  • Working closely with the product marketing team to build out our product offering.
  • Champion and coach, the supply team on use of standard sourcing processes, category management, engaging low-cost country suppliers, risk mitigation and supplier performance management.
  • Collaborate with distribution to ensure all interfacing Supply Chain activities are within target/goal.
  • Anticipate changes in the business and ensure solutions are in place to meet or exceed them by contributing to budget, forecasting, and planning processes.
  • Manage relationships in a professional and courteous fashion with key business partners including internal and external stakeholders, and other operational affiliations.
  • Modify and/or develop key KPIs (balanced scorecard) and control operational aspects. Leads teams in the achievement of all KPI’s including goals that interface with throughput, velocity, productivity, inventory, continuous improvement, PPV, marketing programs, and quality.
  • Develop annual cost savings targets and action plans to achieve those targets.
  • Review current operations and develop/utilizing best practices, implement operating strategies, business plans, performance objectives and key initiatives to successfully achieve results.

What does it take to successfully undertake this role?   

·       Expert knowledge of Supply Chain Management tools and procedures.   

·       Expert knowledge of Sourcing.   

·       10+ years in truck parts or aftermarket equipment support is essential.   

·       Significant experience throughout the product lifecycle from product introduction through obsolescence to include strategic supplier selection, risk management, and continuous improvement efforts including cost management and process methodologies.   

·       Demonstrated leadership with employee and talent management.

APICS Certification required   

Where will you work? The VP of Supply Chain will be based out of our Louisville, KY location.
