Description

Ascent Resources is seeking an experienced Senior Software Developer to provide software development and integration capabilities. This position is located in Oklahoma City and will report to the Director of Data and Development.

The Senior Software Developer will apply the right capabilities in support and enhancement of existing custom developed applications and integration of existing and new applications added to our environment. This position requires strong verbal and written communication skills to work with our business users to assist in defining and documenting requirements for our solutions.
Our environment has multiple areas of software development required such as:
• C#
• AngularJS
• GIT
• Vue
• ASP.NET

Primary Duties & Responsibilities
• Software development of a variety of projects ranging from custom developed application enhancements and bug fixes to integration of systems
• Design, develop and troubleshoot software programs for bugs, enhancements and new software systems
• Perform activities related to the analysis, design, development, test and maintenance of complex software systems and tools
• Research and identify needed solutions, determine implementation designs, providing guidance
• Design, development, implementation, and support of database applications and solutions for managing and integrating data between operational systems, data repositories, and reporting and analytical applications. This includes ETL, stored procedures, views, and functions
• Create technical design documentation which includes current and future functionality, Applications/database objects affected, specifications, and flows/diagrams
• Recommend modifications to processes and procedures, best practices, and architecture
• Manage projects by reviewing requirements and turning them into technical solutions
• Deliver end-to-end projects independently or as part of a larger team
• Collaborate with IT and the business user on projects and support items to develop solutions that meet the business results
• Troubleshoot issues by gathering information and conducting root cause analysis to reduce issues
• Perform the QA and integration testing for projects after development is complete
• Adhere to the organizations processes and tracking of resource and project metrics
• Regular attendance
• Performs other duties as assigned

Knowledge, Skills & Abilities
Minimum Requirements:
• Very strong communication and organizational skills with strong attention to both detail and process
• Demonstrated skills with software development lifecycle, problem solving and project management methodologies
• Demonstrated ability to manage multiple concurrent projects and meet stated customer expectations and deadlines
• Demonstrated SQL programming and/or database experience. Ability to integrate multiple databases
• Extensive experience in database design, modeling and architecture
• Demonstrates ability to create stored procedures and writing complex SQL queries
• Strong knowledge of relational database concepts, SQL, and data modeling techniques
• Familiar with data standards/procedures and data governance and how the governance and data quality policies can be implemented in data integration projects
• Experience working with cloud-based technologies (e.g. Azure, AWS)
• Ability to problem solve, multitask and communicate at all levels of the organization
• Ability to develop scalable solutions that meet the business needs, adhere to industry best practices, and are scalable
• Independent problem-solving ability

Education & Work Experience Required
Minimum Requirements:
• Bachelor's degree in Management Information Systems, Computer Science, or a related study (relevant work experience may be substituted in lieu of a degree)
• 5 years of C# development spanning both .NET and .NET Core
• 5 years of experience with a web framework (AngularJS, Vue preferred)
• 5 years in SQL Server (T-SQL) development
• Experience working with BI tools (e.g. PowerBI, Spotfire)
• Relevant experience implementing an MDM solution
Preferred:
• Experience with FME
• Experience with Oracle Databases
