Accountant I - Corporate Accounting
Description
Ascent Resources is seeking a Corporate Accounting – Accountant I. This position is located in Oklahoma City, OK and will report to the Corporate Accounting Supervisor.
The ideal candidate will be primarily responsible for the preparation of journal entries and reconciliations as part of the monthly and quarterly close processes, with a focus on General and Administrative (G&A) and cash accounting responsibilities.
Primary Duties & Responsibilities
- Prepare various journal entries including G&A and cash accounting
- Prepare and maintain monthly account reconciliations
- Reconcile all corporate bank accounts monthly
- Assist in the preparation of the monthly and quarterly financial close packages
- Perform various duties in connection with the monthly, quarterly and annual close process
- Perform related duties as assigned by supervisor
- Maintain compliance with all company policies and procedures
Knowledge, Skills & Abilities
Minimum Requirements:
- Ability to analyze data and solve problems
- Knowledge of generally accepted accounting principles
- High degree of accuracy and attention to detail
- Demonstrate basic computer knowledge through effective use of a personal computer including Microsoft Office applications. Able to learn company specific applications
- Able to effectively manage time and prioritize tasks in order to meet established deadlines
- Excellent verbal, written and interpersonal communication skills
- Able to work effectively with all levels of co-workers and external contacts
- Able to effectively abide by company policies and procedures
- Able to function independently in a multi-task environment, as well as part of a team
- Able to handle sensitive and confidential information appropriately
Education & Work Experience Required
Minimum Requirements:
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance or related field
Preferred:
- 0-2 years related work experience
