What will you be doing?

 
Argus Media Brasil Relatorios de Preco de Energia e Commodity Ltda (“AMB”) is seeking an accountant to support both direct and indirect tax issues specific to Brazil and the local jurisdictions that AMB operates in (currently Sao Paulo).  This position will work closely with numerous business partners within the company and affiliate companies to provide tax advice and consultation.  Additionally, this individual will assist with the implementation of business and finance initiatives including liaising with the various teams and departments based in both Brazil and the US.  The position will also support the global tax leader in London on a as need basis.

 

 

Skills and Experience

 

  • 5+ years of Brazilian corporate experience with a public accounting firm or industry experience, preferably with a multinational corporation.
  • Complete understanding of both IFRS and Brazilian GAAP which is critical for proper review of financials prepared by AMB’s outside accounting firm.
  • Degree in accounting, chartered/licensed accountant (or equivalent)
  • This position requires excellent written and oral communication skills (English and Portuguese)
  • A complete understanding of Brazilian tax law, both direct and indirect taxes (for local jurisdictions and federal)
  • Working with taxing authorities and outside advisers as necessary as part of a global tax team
  • Supporting tax opportunities and implementation of programs and new projects, including supporting cross-border transactions
  • Maintaining and communicating knowledge of past, present and potential future Brazilian corporate tax regulations, rulings, and procedures that impact AMB.
  • Experience with ERP systems (desirable)
  • Assist where needed in the financial month-end close process.
